My poor little dog had to get spayed on Friday. They also had to repair a hernia that she had. When I picked her up at 5 pm she was shaking so much that I decided to keep her at my side all day. She was still shaking when it was time for bed so I slept by her.
Today she still seems out of it. I think she will be ok, but my husband says his other dogs never acted like this. I will post a picture of her later tonight so you guys can see her
just wanted to get that off my chest. It was all I could think about at work today, and I figured that if I told someone else I would feel better, and I think I am feeling a little better already
oh yeah, my husband's parents had to put down their 8 year old boxer this week due to a stroke and arthritis that is why I am worried

Haley, I hope your little pooch settles down and relaxes. I have two little Yorkies and a Sheltie (I used to have three Yorkies) One of my Yorkies had a hernia repaired a few weeks ago, and she did so well they called and said I could take her home that day. She came home and acted like nothing had happened. It was hard to try and keep her from jumping on the couch or up on our bed (which she has a hard time doing anyway). I wonder what the poor little things think when we take them to the Vet and leave them. It would be pretty scary considering they can't understand our explanation of what is happening to them. Keep her with you and use your "soothing voice" and she will be fine. I lost one of my Yorkies last year due to a vary rare disease (even the specialist we took her to couldn't diagnose it) and I convinced myself one of my other dogs was coming down with the same thing (of course she wasn't). I have always liked your animated picture of your little Pug with the tail wagging and all. Good Luck and give Mei Mei a hug from me.
Thank you all,
There is a picture of her in the photo gallery of her before surgery. For some reason I couldn't get it to post in this message. I actually have to take her to the vet tomorrow because she is having a bladder problem (she is even going potty in her crate). She also now has a red spot on her tummy that is getting bigger. I will keep you posted.

my pug Mei Mei
Well, we went to the vet today and found out that Mei Mei has a bladder infection and must take antibiotics and eat special food because it is pretty bad. The vet says she will recover so we are very happy. Thanks to everyone!!!

I'm so glad Mei Mei is going to recover! Our sweet kitty, BJ, has been on special food for about 3 years. Its more expensive than grocery store food, but well worth it for those of us who love our pets! Love to Mei Mei!

Haley, I've been wondering about Mei Mei and almost posted a new message to ask you how she was, I was going through the old post and found your original message. She is probably going to feel a little rough for a few days, but I'm sure she is gettin TLC. Glad to hear she is on her way to recovery
