It really turns out to be personal preference. I prefer having it paid for when I make my final cruise payment so I have nothing on my S&S card to start with. The one thing is if you do it this way, you cannot reduce your tipping amount. I have never really encountered a situation where I would tip below the minimum. The other would be to have them add it to your S&S account and then you have the option of leaving it as is or adjusting the amount or removing it totally and tipping with envelopes as was done in the past. It's really what suits you best. For me, the less on my S&S account, the happier I am
its totally personal. I thinks that tips should be earned and not just be a "given" I have mine removed from my ships account, i use the automatic tipping amounts as a guideline. I will tip more for excellent service, and will tip less for average or below service.
