Default Speaking of Key West - Ships in Port

Speaking of Key West, 5 ships will be in port that day! A good thing is the Century arrives first, then Legend this is good. After lunch will get crazy!

Hopefully arriving first will mean space at the dock and not doing a tender routine!

Disney Magic 11:30 AM 9:30 PM
Century 7:00 AM 5:00 PM
Carnival Glory 12:00 PM 6:00 PM
Veendam 12:00 PM 5:00 PM
Legend Of The Seas 9:00 AM 5:00 PM

I think Susie is talking about the Dec. 30 Cruise of the Century. Those of us in port for that cruise had better plan on an early lunch! It's gonna get crowded!

Sounds like a good day to stay on the ship!

Lisa, yes, unless you haven't ever been there, such as Keith and me! Anyway, I hope some CM's will want to have lunch with us in Key West . . . you, too!

Lunch sounds good to me! :-) I'd never miss Key West!

Now tons of ships in Nassau or Cayman may be another story then I might stay onboard, too, unless I do a snorkel tour!

Now Judy - I just might be tempted to get off the ship for lunch! Sounds pretty darn good!

Cana - I've been to Key West and some of the islands more than once, so unless something special comes up, lately I have been staying on the ship to enjoy the peace and quiet and extra special service. If I've never been somewhere I always get off and explore.

Key West hurrrrah !! Lots of things to do.
get the book "Florida Keys and Key West an Insiders guide" at your libray or book store.
I have been there many times so I can help out if any one wants to know about the island.
just to name a few: Hemmingway house, Audubon home & gardens, President Truman's little white house, Mel Fishers Marine heritage, mile marker 0, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville at 500 Duval St ,Capt. Tony's where Jimmy really hangs out when in town. (He wrote a song about this bar)
the original Sloppy Joe's of Hemmingway fame. even a pub crawl of all the drinking places...Now your talking my kind of good time. 8)

I would never miss Key West ... Duval Street, Sloppy Joes are musts - been there many times. Love to go to the Butterfly store. As to other ports - should they be in Jamaica, I'll be on board ... complete waste of time. And, that's about the only place I'd stay on board ... even if I've been to the other Caribben Islands (and I've been to most of them) - I'll still get off to see them again.

Cana57, the only time we stayed on board was on our first Caribbean cruise. By the time we arrived in Antigua, we were "islanded out." So if I ever get to go there again, I'll have to be sure and explore.

The lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) and I rarely leave the ship. We really enjoy having the entire ship to ourselves while everyone else is ashore, however, having said that, if we dock, not at the Naval Base, where we can walk right up to Duval Street, we just might rush off for lunch, then back on before y'all return to the ship.
Can't wait for the Cruise of the Century. (One of our very favorite ships, even before the refit!)
