Cruise talk??? I am still recovering for your post about your cruise! But.... I guess I could be forced into doing it. Ok what do I do for Oct. I want to do a 3 dayer in Oct. either on RCL to try it out and get to go to cococay or do the fascination again. only can afford an IC on both this time since I am not wealthy anymore due to paying for a cruise and now a trip to NY. what do I do! both are around the same price.

I would try a new ship if possible, or you could not cruise in Oct and save for a better and longer cruise.

The longer one will have to wait for next summer. I priced a 3 dayer at about $1100 for the 5 of us IC which sucks. again I want to do it before I have to splurge for the cost of 5 passports.(yes I got that email) That right there adds about $700 to the cost of next years cruise and I want a balcony for the 7 dayer no way I can lock my kids in an IC for 7 days.

You don't have to do passports all at once. Do one or two at the time. I won't say I will never do a short cruise again, but I don't want to, because it doesn't seem like enough time. You are how far from a cruise port?

I don't know if rescue was protecting his pride or not. I think he is too old to wander the yard so he hit the bushes near the house.

I live 45 min north of Ft laud and 1hr from Miami So my costs are just the parking! Loved that gas comparison thing I forwarded it to by BIL.

Redzone, Did you rob a bank? Look at all your booked cruises.

Recuse, See if I lived that close to the ports, you would have trouble keeping me off the ships. For me it is a five hour drive down and five back. I need a long cruise to justify it.

I build websites for Dance Studios and all dance studio's sites link to my site. On my site I have a Link " do you want to take a cruise click here" when people click it , it takes them to a page I built a page for my pvp (her information) . In exchange she gives me upgrades ect. Sometimes I save money, sometimes I get great cabins.

It would be far to dangerous for me to live any closer to a port my DH thinks 27 hours is a good distance. I would have to agree with Louanne I dont think i would do anything less then 7 days again. Unless I am down south and get a really good deal. Although we did have a great time on the Fascination and met some really great people, it was over too fast!!

27 hours to a port? is that driving time? I hope so. You know I heard someone invented something called a air-o-plane I here they get you places quicker.

I would hate to have the added expense of plane tickets. then again I would never live that far from the ocean.

Yep its a long to drive to Miami We did the drive once straight through, it took 21 hours. Wont be doing that ever again. We have thought of doing a cruise out of new york to Canada, that would be the only way we would see the east coast. For now we prefer to cruise when it is to friggin cold out to leave the house!! Gotta love the Canadian winters NOT!!!

The cost of a flight at that time of the year is outrageous. At least the exchange rate is a little better now, but I would rather drive and use the $1500 or more for another cruise than flights. (there are 4 of us)

You made it to Miami from like, the north pole in 27 hours????? No way I want to calculate that to MPH ! Ok How many did you drive? I have driven straight through to NC and NY 12 hrs and 21 hrs respectively. Does your car take gas or jet fuel? What was the G force? Did paint peel from your car? How many sets of tires did you go through?

The costs of plane fare is what keeps us from going to ports in Florida or California. Outrageous !! Since we are just an hour from Galveston, we will continue to cruise from there. There is a slight possibility of going to New Orleans or Mobile. That would be a fair drive.

I may be wrong but it seems each port has it's regular 3 and 5 day ships and others that do 7-10 days am I right. these "sister ships" all the same, but dock at different ports so there really isn't much need to travel to different ports unless your looking for a different dest. am I correct?

We have very few ships that leave port here. Really the only that leaves from here is the cruise to nowhere. I will be flying on 3 cruises, 2 are to Fla., 1 to CA and driving 1 (to Port Canv.) with some friends. Then 1 park and go. Norfolk(nowhere).

Why not have your wealthy Casanova son pay for it!
I would try another ship, whether it is RCCL or CARNIVAL and I would also try a longer cruise. Some on here would probably like you to take a verrrry looooong cruise.

We would go to the Florida ports to see more of the Bahamas or the eastern Carribbean. It would be fun, also, just to be on different ships...

Mehawk,

Up until this May, We have always cruised out of New Orleans. The good thing was that, it was only a 3 Hour drive for us.
Then we decided that 3 cruises to the same ports, was enough. We needed a change of scenery.
We booked the Valor out of Miami, going to the Eastern side. Nassua, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. It was awesome Very beautiful Islands. :o Now, I got to go back . So we're thinking of May 2007 again.
So if you get the chance, book the Valor Its an awesome ship And go to the Eastern side of the Carribean.

Happy Sailing;
David

Rescue

I see the ships from a differnt point of view. To us each chip is like a city, the hardware might be the same or close, but its the people on board that makes the difference. Each Captin (you can think of him/her as the MAYOR) has a full set of rules to follow, but after that they each have their own way of running their ships and crew. Each CD will also have their own ideas of how to get passengers involved. Even the passengers vary from one line to another. I think if you pass up a ship because you were already on one of the sister ships you could end up missing out on a lot. To prove my point check out the ship ratings in the review area of any of the cruise sites

Criscomia,
Thanks for the invite However, The wife can't get off from work. Actually, they have her so tied down its not funny. From January 1, to April 15'th, she can't take off any. She also can't take off in any month from the 1'st - 16'th .

Maybe oneday, when we retire, we can be able to go when we want to.

Happy Sailing to all;
David
