Default calling card in Europe

Hi,
I feel like such a fool. I used my calling card that is linked to my phone company. How dumb, I know. I hate to admit it but I want to save others the expense. Use one of the internet places that charge ten cents a minute or buy one of the European pre-paid cards.

I bought a card in Spain once where I could call the States for about 8 cents/minute. Best place to buy them is where students hang out. Much cheaper than having a cellphone with European roaming, that is for sure!

Have tried calling cards in past years while in Europe, found it to be more bothersome.

Bought an international cell phone for $99, charge per minute ranges up to $2.99 per minute but it is much cheaper than calling from the ship, easier than trying to find calling cards and taking the time to call from a noisy terminal, etc. It worked out absolutely great.
