Cruise Clothes for Century and Liberty

We talked last night on Chat about attire. And a good thing, too, because I would have packed the wrong things! I thought it might be beneficial to all who are doing these sailings to put down in writing what is required by both Celebrity and Carnival. I called them both this morning, so here goes.

Celebrity:
One formal night
Two Casual
Two Informal
Informal means a nice dress, or pant and top for the ladies;
jacket, shirt, and tie for the men

The Two-Night:
One casual
One informal

Carnival:
Two formal nights
All others casual; men no ties required

As expected, Celebrity is a little dressier. Neither cruise line permits flip flops, shorts, cut-offs, or other very casual attire in the dining room at night. I hope this helps everyone in "packing duty."

I guess that clears things up Judy. Thanks for taking the time to find out from the cruiselines.

I still think Jake won't be wearing a tie except for formal night. Probably a knit **** with a sports coat for the informal nights.

For me informal and casual really don't mean that much will be diferent on those nights. I will wear what I would wear to any nice restaurant for both of those.

As published aboard Celebrity's ships, "informal" attire for gentlemen consists of a collared shirt, slacks, and a jacket. A tie is optional -- not required.

Don't worry about not wearing a tie on informal night. You won't be hung by the yardarm if you have just a jacket without a tie.

I may or may not wear one.

Take care,
Mike
