Default Exactly two weeks from today.......but who's counting???

Yup, two weeks from today we'll be boarding Celebrity's Summit for our first Alaska cruise! Finally we'll be able to see if all of the pictures we've seen does her any justice...

So I'll be washing our new thermals while it is 100 plus degrees outside! Have you ever seen the funny looks you get from employees in the dept store when you ask them where their cold weather clothing is when we're breaking records outside?? This will be the first time we haven't packed mostly shorts & tshirts!

We'll also be trying their speciality restaurant, the Normandie. Hopefully it will be worth the extra $30 per person, but since we're on such a long cruised, we figured we've give it a try....has anyone else dined there?

The hardest part will be leaving our 4 legged children for 2-1/2 weeks, especially our new 7 month old puppy! But we have a wonderful person staying at our house, plus a wonderful retired woman (and animal lover!) next door who will come over for petting sessions while our sitter is at work...

Hope everyone is doing well in their corner of the world...

I take Celebrity Infinity to alaska from San Francisco in May we loved Alaska the hubbard glacier is wonderful. I love cruising the inside passage. We did the speciality restaurant on Infinity and it was very good. For Alaska dress in layers casue the weather is unpredictable. It was sunny and warm the entire time we were there. Leaving the 4 legged childern is always the hardest part. I have 2 cats and a dog.

Thanks for your reply, Katlady! Only us true animal lovers understand about leaving our "children" behind...I was really having turmoil over leaving the little one, but that was earlier this year when she was still a little thing. Now she's gone from 5 lbs to 26 lbs, so I feel much better! And she has our older dog and kitty to play with, so I'll be able to enjoy our cruise much better....

..and thank goodness our cell phones will work when we're in port, so we can call and check up on them...

Otay, off to wash the thermals!! PHEW!
