Nancy is busier than one legged man in a butt kicking contest today. I spoke to her earlier and she was expecting your call. She always returns phone calls, so if you left a voicemail, she'll call you back. I bet she was on the other line. She's holding a cabin for you at any rate. I went ahead and gave her a deposit for Cathy, so its all good girlfriend.
Still haven't heard back from Venica to see if he'll take my Mom or not. Dad's crossing his fingers lol!
I told Mom & Dad that you and Cathy are going to be roomies. Because they have met you and of course, you made a wonderful impression, they think the two of you will get along swimmingly!
I did leave a voicemail.....can't wait to have my name on this cruise list! I've been sitting here trying to think of a fitting gift to bring my fellow cruisemates......oh and we should try to get together for dinner the night before the cruise.
I have friends I can stay with in Metairie....they can drive me to the terminal the next morning! So it's ALL good!
If you are going to walk on thin ice, you may as well dance!
I would consider it--if only to see the post Kat NOLA. Buuuuuuut,
Chris and I just booked Mercury for Jan 31-Feb 14. Finally, THE PANAMA CANAL--with a whole new continent to add to my travel log, via a day in Cartagena.
I may dwell on the land, but I live at sea!
Sensation 2/03 I disembarked, but never really left the ship.
Sensation 04/05 The vessel made me do it!
Summit 03/06 to Hawaii, Where God left his fingerprints, in memory of Margaret.
Carnival Freedom (March 08)
\X\Mercury (January 09)
I've heard of Wayne Toups and he does play in Baton Rouge....I just haven't been to see him. I might go check him out one day. However I did grow up with the Neville Brothers in New Orleans. They even played at a friends wedding right before their career took off. I enjoy their music a lot!
If you are going to walk on thin ice, you may as well dance!
We are all booked. I just got off the phone with Nancy. Need to keep this a surprise since Tony knows nothing about it. What a nice Christmas present this will be.
I am so excited. The Fantasy was our first cruise, New Orleans was our first vacation without the kids (many years ago) and it will be our first Cruisemates cruise. She is going to try and get us our same cabin when we sailed the Fantasy before. U107--Penthouse suite.
I just sent Nancy an e-mail, but can anyone tell me what the revised rates are for a category 6A, so I can play it in my lotto combination for tomorrow's drawing?..who knows, if I hit the pick 4 I can get a suite
I'm also talking to my jazz cruising best friend and her mother to see if they would like to come
Venice... Early on, when we realized Carnival was giving us a difficult time about the low prices we were offering on this cruise I did post encouraging people to get booked early, BEFORE prices went up.
To be honest I am disappointed with Carnival on this issue. They simply wanted to charge the same for the group as they would for individul bookings. They say this was due to the extra "blogger ameneties and events" on that cruise.
At first they wanted to raise the pricing PLUS remove the amenities we were adding on. ie the shipboard credit, and extra CruiseMates cocktail party.
We refused to allow that to happen, and "negotiated" with Carnival all week, to keep the amenities.
Unlike other cruise web sites, CruiseMates does NOT make money (profit from) the group cruises. The sole reason we fought the fight was to protect the amenities of all the people who book with us.
It should also be noted that UNLIKE other sites offering this cruise, our agent DOES NOT charge it's own agency cancellation fee, should someone find it necessary to cancel before sailing (other than the penalties imposed by the cruise line).
Bottom line.... the price increase is meant to reflect the cost of the extra Bloggers events and gifts. If we'd kept the old pricing, our group would not have been included in those events.
Those who booked early at the lower price are included... we INSISTED on that!
Frankly, I got very aggravated "arguing" with the cruise line over all of this. And, in fact, if John Heald himself hadn't stood up for CruiseMates, I'm not sure Carnival would have settled this, and left our shipboard credit, and cocktail party in place. And John assures us he'll be there to make sure CruiseMates folks enjoy the CM extras!
Kuki...thanks for the additional information...it will all work out..if Carnival gives you any more grief, indicate that you will assign Melody to do all future negotiations on behalf of CM, and I'll gurantee you they will role back prices to pre Katrina levels
I think we are all beginning to understand that this cruise is shaping up as much more then just "another CM group " outing which makes it even more special..let me know if I can help with any pre cruise activities such as the voluntering for habitiat for humanity project for a day or visiting Angelina J. to encourage her to leave the kids at home with Brad and come hang out with us..too help keep cost under control, I will sacrifice and allow her to be my cabin mate...all she has to cover is our onboard expenses which won't be much with the CM shipboard credit allotment 8) 8) 8) 8)
Location: Wisconsin....about 100 miles south of the Frozen Tundra and 70 miles east of Camp Randall
Well, I'm booked too.....but at the higher rate. Just waiting for my booking number from Nancy.
The Fantasy was my first cruise......and I really didn't like cruising at that time. Figured it was time to give the old gal another chance, especially since she is going into drydock this fall to get the refurbishment that the Imagination got......including the adult only Serenity Deck area and the new water and pool area.
Carnival Breeze with Ray B and Aerogirl 5/4/14!
