Default What are your feelings about smoking on cruises?

For me, smoking cigars on my balcony and in the cigar bar is an important part of taking cruises, third or fourth only to:

1) spending quality time with my girl friend

2) eating

3) drinking

Smoking is so important to me that my avatar shows me in a smoking jacket designed and hand-made for me by my girl friend!

I try to avoid the smoking areas. Can't stand the stench.

I detest smoking, and having lost 2 parents to lung cancer, can't understand why anyone would smoke.
I avoid all areas on the ship where smoking is permitted, and I hate having to walk through a stinky smoky casino to get to the dining room or theatre.
At least most ships have a "smoking side" and a "non-smoking side" on the outdoor decks.
Fire hazards of smoking also worry me when we're out at sea....

Boy, do I miss the smokeless Carnival Paradise!

I don't smoke. My husband, 2 of my 4 children and their spouses smoke. My brothers and their wives did and some still do smoke.

Both of my parents and both in- laws smoked. All are gone now. Some from cancer, and some from heart problems.

I won't preach to anyone. Most do not smoke in the house. I do have areas where they can if they want to. All are very conciderate of the ones who don't.

They will quit when they are ready to quit.

Smoking is an addiction. It is very hard to just stop.

I'm a non smoker always have been. As long as I have a Non Smoking room and no one catches the ship on fire it all good to me. I don't mind walking past it and I don't mind being in the same area so smokers. But I don't like my room or bed to smell of stale cigarettes.

Whenever I am around smoke and the stench gets into my lungs, it makes my chest hurt and I feel sick. I'm with Donna regarding the "Paradise". Would make me very happy to see the day when smoking is NOT permitted on a cruise ship.

I used to smoke, have asthma now, so its a no-no. Ellis smokes, not in the house only on the back open porch with a fan blowing his smoke out away from me and the house. So I can't complain, what does bother me more is the women and some men who drown themselves in perfume. Especially in closed speaces like elevators. I sometimes choke so bad I can't breathe and have to get off of the elevator and use my nebulisor..

I picked the first option. I smoke out on deck on the correct side of the ship and the bars that allow it. I could not at this point go on a cruise and not smoke or drink. 8)

You and I both COULD... But we CHOOSE not to, right? ;)

The more of your posts I read, the more alike it seems we think!

Default I See Why

the world is becoming less and less smoker friendly.

The non-smokers are kicking our butts (pun intended) 15 to 7 in only four days of voting!
