I have noticed that the prices for a Disney cruise are very high. Is this because they know that people will buy it anyway?
I've never cruised with them but I would hope the reason is that their ships are like their parks...spotless, over the top imaginative and something for everyone at at any age to enjoy. I found after going to Disneyland that no other amusement/theme park even comes close and now all the rest seem disappointing.

Cruises are always priced at the point they feel they can make the most money. For other cruise lines it is a balance between getting passengers onboard and what they can make in onboard revenue. They prefer to fill the ship and make the money onboard.
Disnay caters to families, which implies a lot of children. Children do not have discretionary income (they don't shop for jewelry onboard, drink alcohol, or gamble in the casino).
In fact, Disney ships do not have casinos.
Disney has to make more of their revenue from the cruise fare, and they are good enough, quality-wise, that they can.
