Yes my friends it is another dark and cold Tuesday at least for Alabama where it is a cold 27 degrees. To think last week I was setting on my balcony basking in the warm Caribbean air. I know that many of my friends from the North are looking at the temps and thinking C-O-L-D? But that is what I moved to the south to live, well that and the US Army.
I hope that all is well with everyone.
Y'all have a great Alabama Day.
Todd - I must have been gone (either mentally or cruising) when you told about your surgery, I hope that all is well.
Luanne - I hope and pray that you and Jim are doing as well as can be expected; your family is in our prayers,
May good luck be your friend
IN whatever you do.
And may trouble be always
A stranger to you.
WHERE IS SPRING?! Good cold morning from Ohio. The temp is hovering at 10 degrees this morning and I don't like it. I'm ready for some warm and sunny weather but guess I'll have to wait awhile longer. At least we don't have snow like the east coast. My 10 month old grandaughter is coming to spend the day with me. She is under the weather with an ear infection but mamaw will make it better. I will be doing a whole lot of playing I'm sure, but I love it.
Everyone have a safe and warm day. Prayers to all those in need.
It's a gorgeously sunny morning Irish, Sue, Trip and all who follow, here in upper East Tennessee.
Thanks for asking Irish, just had an ICD implanted. I always wanted to become Electro-Man!
Sue, it's cold this morning around these parts as well.
The way that Fran's been taking care of me, I NEVER want to get better!
The best part of the whole affair is that I've been engaged in my all time favorite past time.reading. Well sort of. As a result of advancing age and also because I'm either in bed on in my big recliner, I invariably fall off to sleep.
This morning Big Winston, a cross between a Sumo wrestler and a grey Tabby, again exhibited his concern by coming up to my head to check on me. Thankfully this time he didn't walk across my chest! I was sound asleep when 'ol Fishbreath started licking my nose with his sandpaper tongue. As I woke up, I realized my oxygen was not flowing and quickly discovered the reason why. Felix Bin Laden was gnawing on the tubing.
I vaulted from the bed and flew into the kitchen where Fran's "perfect" pancakes awaited. I ate them fearfully however, as sitting beside my chair was our little Oliver, looking up at me and chuckling. I asked if Oliver or one of the others had been near the batter. When she replied that she didn't know as she had to go to the bathroom, Oliver broke into raucous laughter. Now will you believe me when I say I know they're plotting to kill me?
Prayers to all those needing them and Blessings on everyone!
Well the snow started late, but once it started, it dumped several inches in just a short period of time. It was an unusual snow as the flakes were very large, like what we term as "sugar snow" (those lates spring snows, where the temps are warmer, they signal that it is time to tap the trees, as the sap will be a-running), yet it was very cold - which usually accounts for smaller flakes.
Anyway - shovelling required
Today is cold 8 with a breeze! I am anxious to start wearing some different clothes, I am tired of just my winter wear.
I got a lot done yesterday, yet still have much to accomplish. Off to work in a bit. I hope that I really can concentrate of getting stuff done - some days there are only interruptions - which are ok, but non-productive.
I will only be in the office two days this week - as Thursday I need to go with a friend to a specialist, which of course is out of town.
Sounds like lots of you will be enjoying Grandchildren today...how fun.
Thinking and praying for many of you and wishing all the Mates a stress-free day!
Good Morning CruiseMates! Today was a glorious 9 degrees when I woke up the first time at 5 a.m. It's already up to 23 and should reach 32 at it's peak today. I am happy though because the weatherman has promised me that we will get up to 47 degrees tomorrow and hit 60 on Thursday. Sue I will try and send some of this weather your way since you're not so far away. Which is good because I only have a half dozen bags of pellets or so left. Thats probably not going to be enough, but I am just thankful not to have a ton left over sitting in the garage taking up space.
Well I scored at Menard's yesterday. I finally found my hardwood floor, in the color and the price I wanted to pay. It was very close in color to my bedroom furniture. It was called honey oak. I then needed to acquire a floor nailer and compressor which I found on Ebay. So I think I am just about ready to start moving stuff out of the bedroom and ripping up carpet as soon as it arrives. D/H is gonna be so happy ! This is what he'll look like when he gets home and finds all our stuff out in the dining room...
Oh well after 12 years of my projects he should be used to it. It will look so much better. When I was expecting d/s I had problems remembering stuff and I was ironing when the phone rang and I got side tracked and left it unattended. Well the cat jumped on the ironing board and knocked the iron off and it landed on the carpet where it burnt a beautiful iron imprint into the carpet. I have looked at that thing for over 9 years and it has to go! I am just glad I had the kind of iron that shuts off after so long or that would have been the least of my worries. I'll have to post the "after" pictures when we get it done.
Thats about it for now. Nothing else much going on here. Just waiting for the mail to come. Perhaps something good will come. I have a lunch date with one of my good friends I haven't seen in forever. If we don't work at maintaining these relationship, we drift apart and that is an awful waste of such good friendships.
Luanne, as always you are in my heart and my prayers. Keep fighting the good fight! Todd you are sounding like you are almost back to your old self. Glad to see that!
Jen hang in there girl, the weather is bound to break, lets hope it's sooner than later.
Good late morning all. Not much going on today except work and it is quiet here, for now anyway.
I am in need of a mini vacation, camping trip or anything. I think I am having early spring fever!
We are having some cool nights but the days are warming up nicely to the 50's or 60's. This week-end looks to be warm with the temps getting almost to 80. I am not looking forward to the 90 degree weather this summer. Oh well, it's gonna happen whether I like it or not.
Everyone have a great day.

Carnival Elation November 2006
It's cold here (just like every where else) and I do hope it warms up like is predicted - starting tomorrow the temps sound more promising and better weather should be on its way.
I'm just really tired this morning and I don't have the motivation to keep on plugging away at the work on the desk which is looking at me and laughing!! My desk is covered, I'd really like to just pick it all up and throw it in the trash can!!! however, that's not possible so I guess I'd better get back to task.
Everyone have a great day and remember you are all in my prayers and thoughts!
