What is wrong with the natural scent the sea provides? I don't know about others but one of my most vivid memories of getting on board the Carnival Valor for my first cruise was how the air smelled sweeter on deck. The smell of the sea as we were cruising from one port to the next was one of the things that hooked me on cruising. Why add them when the sea and ports provides them?

Reminds me of a casino in Lake Tahoe---they did that because of the smell of cigarette smoke---------sort of a bad combination --not only did you still have some smell from the cigarettes--depending more so if someone was smoking near you --but the added not very plesant smell of the scent that the casino was using to cover it up-----sort of a soapy cleaner smell--------we didnt stay long----
Cheers

It's a current trend in retail to have scent puffers in upscale boutiques. I think the cruise lines want to associate with this. Smells "Upscale". But doesn't cost THEM a lot.
Yikes,,,I sure hope they don't start that. Some of those perfumed smells can be down right offensive,,,
My mom used to put those air freshner thingees in her car all the time,,,after riding with her for awhile It became overwelming,,,she had to take them out.
