Its down to two ships..pretty much the same int, west Caribbean.
Can I have a quick opinion between the two ships?
Carnival Destiny, which has the outdoor screen, which is cool....or the RCI Navigator of the seas. No screen.
I read the reviews on both. Mixed.
Last cruises was on the older Triump and Victory class, and I said then I was done with those. Is Destiny better? It's bigger I know. Never been on RCI so I don't know where that measures up.
Daughter cant do a lot of physical stuff so that stuff doesnt pay into this.
I want a nice ship with nice pools and good entertainment.
I've been on Caribbean Princess and loved it so, hoping one of the two above is also the same or similar.
Now don't give me all the standard, "depends what u want to do and the pro's and con's of Carnival and all that crap. I know all that.
I'm leaning toward the 5 day Destiny. I know nothing bout Navigator to compare.
Thanks
Tina

I personally would probably do "Destiny". I simply like the way Carnival operates their cruises better. Yes, I know that "Navigator" has all that high tech stuff, but like you, it makes no difference to me as I'd never take advantage of any of it. "Destiny" will have about 1000 fewer passengers aboard, and for me, would be a better cruise. (Probably less expensive too!)
Hi TBug, glad to see you back. I agree with the above posts. I think the Destiny would be best for you and DD. If you love the idea of the outdoor screen that would be a big plus for the Destiny!
Although I haven't sailed on either ship, from what I've read I don't think that you can compare the Carribean Princess with either of these ships. Then again, I'm a Princess "cheerleader"... .
I hope DD is doing well now ,
P. S. come see us at Laura's

Hi T-Bug, nice to see you back!
I have not sailed either of your 2 choices, but I too am leaning towards Destiny, simply because it's Carnival, and I feel they give you more "bang for your buck.
Destiny is smaller, which I like, has been updated with the movie screen, which is nice, and is most likely a lot cheaper than anything RCCL can offer, especially since you and your daughter will not partake of all the special activities offered.
Trip, I'm joining you so you don't have to be the lone wolf anymore I haven't sailed on the Destiny so I can't compare, but my husband and I have sailed the Navigator of the Seas 3 times now (5 night and 2 night back-to-back last year), and were pleased all 3 times. The service and food were both great, and despite the size of the ship, it didn't feel crowded. There's nothing like making your decision more difficult, is there? I'm sure you and your daughter will enjoy your trip, whichever ship you choose.

Personally, I would choose the Navigator. Hard to believe as I am not the biggest RCCL fan, BUT! RCCL would be my second choice after Princess and tied with Carnival.
I was on the Freedom of the Seas, a big sister to the Navigator. I loved the layout of the ship and it was VERY east to navigate. I have some problems walking at times, but I had NO problems on the Freedom which is bigger than the Navigator. The Navigator also has walk in pools where as the Destiny, IIRC, does not have.
If you look at the Carnival boards on this and other forums, you will see the Destiny has a lot of propulsion problems and a lot of angry cruisers on this ship.
I think I'd go with Navigator as well. REad something recently about Destiny, plus its a much older ship and you'll find more things to do onboard Navigator.
