Default Monday Morning Who Dat Quiz !!!!!!

A Very Early Good Morning from New Orleans could not sleep last night (wonder why) and decided to start the thread early and then make plans to go to Miami in two weekends for alittle S&M (Saints and Manning)

I suspect it''s going to be a very long day in Viking Country...on tv, Super Bowl packages (without air) were starting at $3000 p/p which is about the cost of a grand suite on a 7 day cruise on Carnival out of New Orleans

I'm sorry the quiz question is, if your favorite NFL team was going to be in the Super Bowl( for the first time in it's 43 year history in the league) in two weeks, would you spend $6000 plus air for 2 for a weekend package ?

Congratulations Venice! I couldn't sleep either but it had nothing to do with a football game. If it weren't for Favre attempting to play hero one time too many, the Vikings would probably have won it. While the game became tied at the very end the Saint's ended up doing themselves and New Orleans proud. They sure ain't the "Ain'ts" any longer. Now, if only they could beat Payton and company but I just don't see that in the cards. Archie must be on cloud nine as well 'cause either way his team wins. I think though that we all know who he'll be rooting for on the 7th.

As regards your question; even if I were extremely wealthy and could afford anything I desired, I would nevertheless still not pay that kind of money to see any professional sport............especially when I could stay home and watch it on TV in the comfort of my sun room.

I'd watch the whole thing from my seat by the pool. "As if" it won't be on the giant pool screen....

If they show "Alvin & the Chipmunks, The Squeakquel" instead of the Superbowl, the Captain will soon find himself overboard.

Good Morning CruiseMates!!!
Well nothing pleases me more than the outcome of yesterday's football game. I love my Colts, but I also think that The Saints and New Orleans are long overdue for something really good to come their way. I really am happy that both teams made it this far and it thrills me to no end. The only thing that would thrill me more is if the Colts would make it to the Super Bowl the year that Indy is hosting it. It made me happy to see the joy on those people's faces in New Orleans and Indy. My girlfriend flew down to NOLA for the Saints game, I can't wait to hear all of the stories when she returns.

I hope that today is not a typical Monday for you all and it is filled with pleasant surprises. Take care and make it a good one!

Morning Mates, I too had a sleepless night, nothing to do with football, but sleepless just the same.
In answer to Venice's question, no way would I pay that kind of money to see a professional sport.
There was an item on the news last night about the Olympics being held in Vancouver next month, and how all the tickets are sold out, but available through scalpers for the most exorbitant prices. It's nothing more than robbery, and greed, plain and simple.
I'll watch form the comfort of home, thank you.

It's a semi-sunny Monday, and at -9C (15F) not too cold.
Back to work day for me, I sure hope it goes better with the Gr. 4,5,6's than it did last week!
I have the afternoon off, so maybe I will do some more snowshoeing....

Yesterday I finally finished wallpapering the bathroom,,if I never see paste agian, it will be too soon..,,now to accessorize a bit! I decided I want to throw out every towel I own, and buy all new ones...there should be a law about people who are married as long as I am, get another wedding shower..What do you think?

I need a bagel and tea now, so you all make it a good one!

Good morning
There must have been something in the air that so few of us where unable to sleep last night. For me it was the peanut butter chocolate ice cream I had. Don’t usually eat it and it was just to rich or maybe my bowl was to big! I was happy with the outcome of the football games and sorry Venice I’m going with the Colts but would be happy for New Orleans too. I would take that money book a cruise and watch the super bowl on the ships big screen.
No to much on this end here, just another Monday .Hope everyone has a great day!

Trip,

I think I've posted something such as this before and if such is the case, forgive me for my first senior moment of this hour. If you want to go shopping for towels, you should do so at our house. As a result of Fran's niece Adelaide's largesse, Fran could probably literally redecorate the large bathroom monthly for at least three years. And I honestly don't think I'm exaggerating much if at all. We have two large linen closets, a steamer trunk and under the beds storage containers crammed with absolutely gorgeous towels, wash cloths, shower curtains, bath rugs, etc., etc. Fran made the huge mistake of telling Ad a couple of years ago that she was planning to redecorate the bathroom and Fran asked her opinion on what she thought of the color Fran had chosen.

Well as a result, Fran can now decorate in virtually any color one could make with a whole slew of oils on an artist's pallet.

Of course Fran only changes the decor about once every six months so we'll both undoubtedly be in the ground long before she ever would be able to use everything. But she doesn't give it away because Ad gave it to us.

Darren..in the spirit of southern hospitality, I invite you to come visit New Orleans and learn more about the recovery and understand why the victory yesterday was so important to the spirit of our city

in answer to my own question, my neighbor has 4 season tickets in the upper levels of the Dome...he sold 2 of them for both the game last week and this week and made enough money to pay for his tickets next year and upgrade his seat location and take his wife to Hawaii for her birthday in April...sooooooo I would not spend that type of $$$ for a sporting event or a 7 day cruise (not even a full charter smooth jazz one)
