Morning Mates, from a snowy Pictou County.
It's not a "close the schools, cancel the meeting, go home early, call out the army" kind of snowy day, just light flurries which make visibility hard and the roads a bit slippery, but life goes on as usual....
Today is my 1/2 day of work, just the lunch hour, then I have to go out and try to find a beach ball. Yes, I said a beach ball. We borrowed a couple for the Olympic Games on Saturday in the snow (Snow Volleyball) but one got broken and I have to replace it or the gym teacher won't be too happy.
Anybody know where I can find a beach ball in February?
If this snow amounts to anything, I may go out on my snowshoes this afternoon, it's only -1C so quite pleasant...
Hope everyone else has a good start to their week, and those who were feeling the "crud" are feeling better!

Well it is another cold snowy danged day in paradise . D/H is on his way to teach a class at Indiana University in Bloomington which may get up to 7 inches. I made him take his snow boots and when winter first started I packed him an emergency overnight bag which stays in his car should get stranded and have to unexpectedly spend the night there, it has a clean pair of work clothes, pajamas, razor, toothbrush etc.... So he and I will talk sometime later today to decide if he'll be coming home tonight or spending the night there.
Last night's scuba class was a lot of fun. I met all sorts of folks and they were all super nice. My instructor did a great job and I am no longer intimidated to hook up all of that equipment. I am sure that I can now do that with few issues. My buddy/partner that was assigned to me last night is a lovely sweet lady who is in her 60's and we did really well together. I think we make a good team. I am looking forward to next week's class. I was not thrilled to find that everything was covered in a new coat of snow when I left the pool. It made an exciting drive home and I made it in the door around midnight.
Today the kid's have valentines Day at the sitter's house. I don't think I will let d/s attend because I am afraid he will hurt himself. There's just too much activity, too many things he could trip and fall on, like toddlers . So I figure I will send d/d and valentines from the boy to his friends and all that stuff, and d/d will bring home candy to him...that's all they need ...I guess I'll make an appointment with the dentist for them next week hehehe.
Well I need to get to work around here. Hope you all had a great Valentines Day and you all have a good Monday.
I am ready to put a hit out on that Groundhog....we are getting more snow with 6 to 8 inches predicted . When will it end!
It has been a busy morning. First our schools were on a 2 hr delay trying to get a make up day in. My SIL brought the girls over as normal on Monday mornings. My daughter has the day off but needed to do some erands so I was going to keep the little one for 1/2 day then mommy would pick her up here. Well, school ended up canceling as the snow really began to fall. Mommy decided not to do her running to town so she was just going to come get the girls and spend a day with them. NOT! She slid in her driveway and got her car hung up in the yard. I packed up the girls and took them home, with no problems. By the time I got back close to home the roads were starting to get really bad. Glad my driving is done for the day!
Todd I hope you had enough dip & Sam Adams to get you through that race . It was really something wasn't it. Good finish at least I was pleased my Bow Tie boys did OK.
Beanie, If you are getting the same snow we are your hubby may not be home tonight! You are a good wife to have packed him a bag.
RD, Get ready I'm sure this snow will find it's way to you.
Everyone have a good day and if the snow is falling on you stay inside an watch from where it is warm.
We have a nice day shaping up. Not much in store for me. Need to run some errands -- I tried to do this last Friday, but ran out of steam after the first stop. Hopefully today I will have more energy. I'm feeling better, so hopefully my stamina has caught up with everything else!
Everyone have a great day!

Good morning R/Donna, Manuel, B/W and all the rest of our CruiseMates.
As does Kuki, I love the vagaries of the Weather Service. An update says our steady snow will end around ten this morning and we'll end up with 2-5 inches of accumulation. I've my parka and snow boots ready in preparation to sally forth to the store. Of course I'd look kinda' ridiculous as a snow flake hasn't fallen in the past hour and there is nothing but a few white patches with green showing through sprinkled around the yard.
Am so glad you're enjoying your Scuba Class, Beenie Weenie. That's something I've always wanted to do ever since I was a youngster watching Lloyd Bridges in "Sea Hunt." Of course you may well not have even heard of that program, much less seen it as you're parents were still probably in Jr. High. .
As a matter of fact, I was reminiscing recently and mentioned to Fran that maybe I would just throw caution to the wind and try it. First thing she asked me was if my burial policy was paid up. Then she started chuckling, which progressed to a cackle which grew until she ended up rolling around the floor laughing so hard, I thought I was going to have to look for a tazer in order to bring her back to her senses. After what appeared to be five minutes, she started to regain her composure and I helped her up. With tears continuing down both cheeks as she made every effort to choke back more guffaws she said, "I just couldn't control myself after imagining what you would look like in a wet su.........." and that's as far as she got before collapsing back onto the floor in yet more convulsive laughter. I just moved the table and chairs out of the way so she wouldn't hurt herself. You know, the most embarrassing part was that our cats were rolling around with her, laughing their heads off as well.
Now you know why I felt such kinship with the late Rodney Dangerfield.
Prayers of course continue for those on the list along with Blessings on all.
Good morning from chilly, Virginia Beach. Today I resumed my ritual of going to the gym. (I skipped it last week because I was congested). Yes, I am a little sore but know that exercize is great for the mind and body! How I wish that I was in Vancouver now; it is so exciting watching the olympics! Make it a great Monday, fellow cruisemates!
Good Morning cruisemates! The coffee is delicious, the sky is clear, and the temps already feel like it's in the 60s. And heading into the high 70s.
Mrs. Kuki is still snoozing, so I've already written this week's Blog... which you can read on Wed. when it's published.
Under two weeks until Mrs. Kuki heads back home and back to work to support me in the manner to which I've become accustomed. She can't even divorce me now to get rid of me because I could sue for alimony.
We were talking last night about how very fortunate we are to have become snowbirds, and skip most of winter for the first time. We've truly loved our time in Arizona.
Her final two weeks here are going to be very busy. Friends arrived in town yesterday, more coming today, and more yet tomorrow, and again next week. So, we are going to be social butterflies; lots of meals out, lots of activitiy (read golf for me) and lots of laughs on tap.
We had about 2" of snow last night so I had to do a quick blow of the driveway.
So far today I've worked with my granddaughter on her math. Those dang multiplication tables are tricky.
Not much going on today. We'll need to take the kids shopping around noon then take them home. After that not too much until I help a friend set up her new email account.
I hope everyone digs out of snow and those who don't need to dig, and those that do, I hope everyone has a wonderful President's Day and a fantastic week.
Take care,
Mike

A late good morning to you all. As Kuki says, it loks to be a stupendous day with temps in the mid-80's. This is the kind of day you want to abandon everything and just be outdoors. Wish that could be so!
It's gym day for Keith, ironing day for me, and this afternoon we will go on a search for Dreyer's Triple Chocolate ice cream. Obviously, we aren't the only ones that like it, so the search begins. Why such an effort for ice cream? It's made with Splenda, doesn't fight with my blood sugar counts, and tastes absolutely scrumptious.
sitting at home as today is family day here in alberta. just thought i would read the boards as there is not much doing. except trying to dicide wether to go to hawaii or the caribbean with cruisemates
