Are those three significant people willing to have dinner with YOU...???
I have had dinner with two VERY prominent individuals, which I looked forward to immensely. Neither wanted to talk about anything remotely related to what made them prominent or noteworthy.
Talk about a letdown. My fault and my presumptuousness actually.
Do you think Elvis would want to talk about the music biz over dinner?
Tiger Woods would probably rather be locked in a cage with Elin and a bunch of clubs before chatting about golf with me at the dinner table.
Actually, on my very first cruise, we were seated at the very last table in the dining room. There were two empty seats at our table. A table for two was hastily set up behind us. Comedian David Brenner (performing on the cruise) was seated there with his wife. Evidently, he was intended to be seated with us. However, he was too good to join the riff-raff, it appears. In any case, at his performance, he read his jokes from a book he took from his pocket.

This is hard to narrow down to three people. There are so many I admire.
John Fitgerald Kennedy, Princess Diana and Eunice Kennedy Shriver

Jesus, Paul, and the prophet Daniel All from the Bible, it would be a great cruise!

I bet I would get great service from the male dining room staff and enough Secret Service protection that no one would bother us
on a serious note, very often on the Smooth Jazz Charter cruise, the Jazz musicians and their familes will sit at different tables every night with the guest..great conversations on a variety of topics
Danny Kaye
Charlie Chaplin
Robin Williams
What I like a good laugh. Oddly enough I would want to talk finance with Charlie Chaplin. That is if Robin Williams let us get a word in. Charlie Chaplin removed is money from the stock market before the crash (great depression). He knew European demand wouldn't hold. He didn't know about the dust bowl.

I did have the opportunity to talk to Eunice Shriver back in 1995 when I was a volunteer for the world special olympics. She was very friendly and easy to talk to.

Manuel..what a small world..I have volunteered for Special Olympics since 1968 and had the honor of meeting Mrs Shriver several times and I agree she is a very special lady
I've always stated that the true legacy of the Kennedy's is their impact on changing the perception of People With Intellectual Disabilities
Kat, I presume the purpose of the thread was to find out who CM'ers thought were interesting people, not a purpose to offend. I don't always agree with the governor's decisions, either, but I saw Greta Van Sustren interview him at his home some time back, and I read a really good biography on line, and I think he's an interesting man.

What an honor that must have been. Special Olympics was the reason I chose her. Developmental Disabilities has always been dear to me.

Three WW 2 veterans and we wouldn't talk about war. I'd just thank them for their service, and then move on to more general conversation. If they wanted to talk about their experiences, I'd be honored to listen but wouldn't press them to bring it up.

I use to like him until he decided to become the governor I think it's a position he is ill suited for. Unfortunately I didn't realize this until he got the job. I apologize for my outburst. You have a right to invite anyone you want to dinner.

I know that only 3 guests were asked for but I need to add another. Living in Polk County Florida for the last 3 years I have come to admire Sheriff Grady Judd. This man is committed to getting the scum off the streets. He just recently got 15 child predators off the streets. Good Going Sheriff Grady Judd!!

Since I too live in Polk County, Florida, I absolutely agree with you! Sheriff Judd is a VERY accessible person, and in fact, if you can catch him when he's at the S.O., he will be glad to take a moment and talk to you. He is a VERY busy guy, but actually does work for us, the people of Polk County, and is interested in what you have to say.
Can I come over and will they by shirtless? I wasn't sure you Robert Pattinson was so I had to look him up. It's Cedric Diggory.
Of course you can join us for dinner Kat! And of course the soccer hunk, the sexy pirate and the handsome vampire will be shirtless.

I would choose people who speak English so that we could converse. Also, I would ewant them to be intelligent and witty. Therefore, I think that Benjamin Franklin, William Shakespeare and Albert Einstein might make a wonderful group. The waiters would never get those three out of the dining room.
