Henry, I haven't been to a movie in years, but I watch the Oscar show religiously. I enjoy the pre-show presentations not because of the inane chatter, but because I get to see good closeups of the gowns.
I'll answer you in the next year when those films come out on satellite.
The last movie, I paid to see was "Toy Story 3". The next one will be Cars 2.
By the time you pay for the movie and the treats and the BABYSITTER .... well, i'd rather just save my money and wait a few more months.
I may watch the Oscars just to see the openning monologue which is often enjoyable.

I haven't been to a movie in nearly 2 years due to health reasons but I researched .I am rooting for Jesse Eisenberg to win Best Actor because I've known him since he was a toddler but my gut feeling is that Colin Firth will win .
Hey .... this thread reminds me .... we were supposed to get a 2 for 1 movie coupon with our last pizza order. Gotta ask DH about that .... it's time for DATE NIGHT!

I have not seen any of the nominated movies except Toy Story 3.
In fact, I don't think I've seen any of the past few year's nominated movies , not since Titanic! But I'll be watching just to see the new hosts James Franco and Ann Hathaway, I think they'll be great together.
I agree. What a God-awful snoozeville BORING show. It's like the producers don't even realize people might be watching. (Let's just indulge our private club, shall we?). The hosts were useless.
Henry, Pretty good pics. I haven't seen the Kings speech yet, but looks like I must. I actually just saw Toy Story 3 the night before, I really did enjoy that. Somehow, I managed to fall asleep during the cermony, but did catch most of it, always enjoy watching, even if I haven't seen all the movies yet.
Not a bad show last night. I actually watched the whole thing for the first time in years. The one thing I noticed was the lack of jewelry on the stars, a lot of bare necks. I thought it was nice, much simpler. The one downfall, No George Clooney!!!

I didn't see any of the nominated films .My wife saw Toy Story 3
I personally thought it was the worst Academy Awards show in years. You need a stand up comic to host-someone who can ad lib and isn't afraid to be a little edgy. Ann Hathaway was trying hard but James Franco was either sedated or bored to death. No production numbers, no outstanding fashion statements. Totally boring IMHO. On the upside-Colin Firth winning (I thought he should have won last year) and Billy Crystal, who's brief appearance only made you more aware of how lame this years hosting was.

Kevin Spacey as George Clooney is not the same as having George there. There is only one George Clooney and Kevin Spacey does not even come close.
It's all about the fashion..... Some nice looking gals and guys.
Glowing Mommy to be Natalie
The always beautiful Hallie (IMO the best dress of the night)
Tall and slender Nicole

It seems like people say it the worst every year but still watch it. I watch it pretty much every year and I thought it was ok. I'm not sure what people expect from it, it's an award show.

Henry post the pic of 5 year old Trump. Was he with his girlfriend? Since he likes them young his girlfriend must of been 4 months old.
I have a pic of myself with Trump if I find it I'll post it.
