Default Sea Yearning

I have a new little verse for the cold winter days that expresses how I feel on occasion.

Sea Yearning

I wish that I could be out on a ship today
And to follow the lure of the sea.
To float on the blue where the dolphins play
Is the thing most appealing to me.

To feel the light touch of the warm salt breeze
As I cruise on the soft soothing tide,
I yearn for the essence and soul of the seas
And the caress of ocean so wide.

The love of the ocean is deep in my heart
And is found in the souls of all men,
So I wish for the day I can once more depart
And be back on the sea once again!

Paul,

Another absolutely marvelous offering!

Thoroughly enjoyed it! You should consider publishing a compilation of your poems and I'm serious about that!

Thanks, Todd, and certainly, Laura. I don't have the willpower to sit at a keyboard day after day and produce the words necessary to fill the pages of a novel, but I find writing traditional poetry very easy. I do it for my own pleasure and for anyone else who might enjoy it. I like to think that my efforts are a bit better than Hallmark.:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Paul, as usual, you certainly know how to express what most of us are feeling at this time of year!
The best part is, in a week I WILL be enjoying life on the sea again!
