Well Snowmageddon 2012 hit and it was a doozy. We had 3.5" of heavy wet snow. Betty did her wifely duty and blew the front of the driveway and walkway. She also cleaned up what the plow guy left on the rest of the driveway. The driveway was dry by noon.
I overdid it a bit yesterday. I washed six loads of laundry and went up and down the stairs about 20 times. There is a good side to it. I actually started working on going up the stairs like a real human and alternating legs. I did a pretty good job of it but by the end of the day my leg was pretty sore and when I realized I had to go from the upstairs bedroom to the basement to get some distilled water I wasn't happy. Oh well; I made it but only slept for about five hours.
It's a PT day today. I'm off in about 1.5 hours to show how much better I'm doing. I'll ace that 2" stair and then I'll probably get my butt chewed out. Actually, I probably won't. The therapist I have today takes the "If you can do it, do it" approach.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day and that the rest of the week is a good one.
Take care,
Mike

Loved the photo even though some will use it as proof that you're a chauvinist after-all.
Have yet to check the forecast but it's going to at least start out sunny because the sun is just now starting to peak out from behind the mountains.
I'm moving today at what I refer to as turtle-rate but am going to try and make Church at noon. As with many, some are good days, others are not so good but I've arrived at the point that if you open your eyes, it'll be a good'un, if less productive.
This year, I don't believe we even received a true dusting of snow. Of course it ain't over yet but.......
Hope everyone has a great "hump" day and of course, Prayers and Blessings continue unabated.

I just checked the weather. We're going to have very strong thunderstorms that will begin this afternoon with temps rising to around 70 before a cold front brings through even heavier storms this evening with strong straight line winds (there goes some more shingles) and possibly even a tornado watch. So much for the beginning of a "beautiful day!"

Morning Mike and Todd and all to follow. I slept in this morning, AND all through the night, which hasn't happened in a long time. One sleeps much better when one is pain-free for a change!
I arrived at my TOPS meeting last night to find it cancelled due to Norovirus (the leader's husband had it and she didn't want to a) leave him alone and b) possibly infect all of us.)
However, other volunteers continued with the weigh-in then sent us home. I am pleased to say I lost 4 lbs this week, although I'm sure that had more to do with not being fed in hospital for 2 days than from any great effort on my part!
Today I continue the exercise regime with ice skating from 10-11, then off to work to see what delights await me there. So far this week I've had an unannounced gov't inspector and an assistant who didn't show up 2 days in a row. Never a dull moment....
Good morning to all! I am glad you folks seem to be on the mend.
Donna and I are excited about sailing on Sunday. We will be leaving tomorrow to stay down by DIA and fly to Miami on Friday. I'm sure you guys know quite well how hectic it can get trying to get everything done before you leave.
We are having a little snow and very high winds here. They called for gusts up to 80 - 100 mph. I know we have recorded up to 70 mph so far. We live up a dirt road about three miles from a gravel county road and then another mile and a half to the blacktop. Yesterday I had to spend an hour on the tractor plowing out to head to town and almost didn't make it back in later in the day. My wife is named Donna also and I will need to take her in today, so it will be back on the tractor this morning.
OK, I must confess, this isn't as bad as it sounds. I use our neighbors tractor and it is a huge new John Deere with a heated cab, power steering and controls, and radio. It's actually kind of fun, but I wouldn't want to have to do it everyday.
Good morning from a sunny Texas, where it is suppose to be 80 this afternoon.
Not a lot going on here. Just the usual stuff. I am trying to get the house ready for the new furniture we bought on Monday. You know how it is. The carpet suddenly doesn't look good, and then you realize the walls need a new coat of paint.
Hi Kids,
Going to hit almost 60 here today..how great is that?
Bruce continues his quest to just shlep a carry on, so we bought some golf shirts at a great price the other day. While he may be able to do it, I'll pay the $25.00 for a checked bag. I am on the hunt for some cruise clothes as well...ahhh,and maybe a pair of shoes
I got a request to make another diaper cake, for a boy, this time, so off I go for a few errands.
Wishing you all a good one

Good Morning cruisemates from the land of the new Canadian settlers; Arizona. Everywhere I go now is over-run with my countrymen.
With our dollar at parity or better, everyone has been buying real estate down here. I'm betting there's more of us here now than illegal aliens. Once we begin to organize, we may just take over and declare Arizona Canada's 11th province.
Going to hit close to 80 here, in bright sun shine, and I'm happy because I have a golf game on tap. Gearing up for a busy couple of weeks again, as lots of working friends coming back down to golf and eat.
Good morning mates. It's sunny here this morning. We are supposed to get in the 70s today and tomorrow. We'll see. I'm having my quiet time after a pretty good night.
Took dad to meet the new PCP yesterday. He was not a happy camper and was acting like a put out three year old right up until the time we left. He acted fine at the doctor's office though. I do like the new PCP better than the old one. I think we'll get along just fine.
Talked to one of his caseworker's yesterday about a lift for the shower. She had the supply company call me. Our insurance won't cover it and they cost like ten thousand dollars. Geeze! I could get one for the bed but would need to get a hospital bed, too. I don't think he's ready for that yet(emotionally), so I asked for the one for the chair. The rep was going to call the doc to get permission.
His feet went out from under him while we were in the bathroom last night. I was able to gently guide him to the floor and then my daughter and I got him to bed. He seems to be losing his ability to turn, especially in the stupid clod hoppers the doctor's want him to wear on his feet because of his toes. I guess I'll start taking them off when I take him to the bathroom. The main problem is though that the dementia is progressing. :-x It's terrible to see what it's doing to him. He thought I'd pushed him over and lashed out at me about it...but the anger went as quickly as it came. It will be interesting what today will be like.
Anyway, that's my news. Sorry to go on and on. Hope everyone has a good day.
Marsdude...I hope you have a wonderful cruise. We'll want to hear about it when you get back.
Thoughts go out to everyone who is struggling with health issues, people issues, car issues, family issues........we're here with strong shoulders for you to lean on.
Good morning. Bright and sunny and in the 80's. I will try to persuade my DH to take me to an Italian restaurant in Pasadena with a beautiful outdoor patio.
I think it's great we have this morning thread, to share the good times, and, the bad... the happy, the sad,and the moans and groans we all have. No judging, compassion, and a shoulder when we need it, and hugs,& giggles too....xo

This is indeed a great thread. We can help each other out and take comfort in knowing how nice people can be.
