Default Typical Summer Tuesday in this part of the world

Today is forecast to be a typical upper East Tennessee Summer Tuesday with a high forecast of 84F and a 30% chance of thunderstorms. Pretty routine for this part of the world.

I swear, the hottest I've ever been was when I was ten years old visiting my paternal Grandmother who lived in Manhattan. The second hottest day was as an adult in Manhattan. Something about the "canyons" of buildings retaining their heat. On the other hand, the coldest I've ever been has also been in Manhattan as an adult back when I was "on the job" so I guess it's an even split.

Henry would be much better than I at explaining that.

Got my furry children back home yesterday afternoon....minus the fur. All they have are furry heads and a blop of fur at the end of their tails. Kinda' reminds me of monkeys. I was worried they'd might be cold but they all seemed more than comfortable and there's a hell of a lot less shedded hair with which to deal.

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday! Around here I'm looking forward to a pretty routine day.

Prayers for those on the list and a request for Blessing upon all continue as usual.

Morning Todd. Sounds like summer has come to Tennessee, but we're still waiting here.
The sun has finally come out, but with a high only 18C (64F) it's still not quite there....

Today it is aquafitness, weeding, work, and TOPS. I will find out if I retained my weight loss since last week....I don't know, after that stupendous birthday dinner....

Good morning
An absolute beautiful day here today with temps in the mid 70’s. I’m meeting a friend for lunch and than a trip to the garden center yet again.
Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone.

It is also a beautiful day in this Minnesota neighborhood. Clear skies, cool temps, but a bit breezy. I am unsure what is on the agenda today except for some phone calls I need to make to receive updates on my flooring and my homeowners insurance.

Yesterday I did something I shouldn't have. I bought a new set of luggage. Our basement is starting to look like a used luggage store. The old ones were fine but these are composite hard side luggage and weigh less than the old ones. I saw them at "church" and decided that we needed to conserve as much weight as possible for our upcoming "Nine Nation Vacation".

BTW: "Church" is what I'm now calling Costco. The reason is that I go there at least once a week and I give them ten percent of my income.

I know the Cruisemates may get tired of seeing me in the same pair of Dockers and the same three shirts but I think they'll get over it. I'm glad the Breeze has onboard laundry.

Betty is in countdown mode for retirement. Only four more work days for her and "Sheeeee's Out a There". She is also in hyper mode about packing for this many days and this varied of a trip. If it wasn't for the numerous plane trips she wouldn't be worried but she's obsessing on how she can take the correct number of shoes and keeping her one suitcase at 20 Kilos. She'll figure it out.

I hope everyone has a great day and that the rest of the week is a good one.

Take care,
Mike

Morning mates. I'm here by myself with the animals this morning and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. We had rain yesterday evening and last night. It was much needed. I bought my travel insurance for my November cruise last night. Not really sure what's on my agenda yet today. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Good morning from Sunny Florida.

It's another warm, sunny dat here but it's quite comfortable.

Mike, I'm happy for Betty. My last workday was three years ago today. I have really enjoyed my retirement so far.

Have a great folks.

you want hot? Come on over to the Ark-La-Tex... I'm in DFW and this weekend is going to be in the 90's and I think the "feels like" temp may break 100.

It's another hot sticky one in south Texas. Not much planned today as I'm fighting a summer cold. Went out and got some EmergenC (high vitamin C drink). Find that helps get rid of colds faster.

Not that it's a competition or anything... but when some of you say how hot your temps are I have to giggle a little!

Our high yesterday here in the Valley of the Sun was 108!! Our low has only been getting to around the mid 70's.

Right now, at 12:30 in the morning, it is still 89!

You're right, it is a dry heat and I'll take it any day over some of the heat and humidity some of you have, but darn, the car is almost unbearable when you come out of work or the grocery store to get into it! You'd be surprised with just how accomplished people get at driving without even touching the steering wheel! !

?The only time I was in Arizona, I made the "dry heat" claim to a native Arizonan who had never lived anywhere else. His reply, "It might be called "dry heat" but HOT IS Hot! I've lived here all of my life but my God does it get hot!

I've posted this before but it bears repeating .Many years ago I was in Phoenix and it was 108 degrees . I went into a "grocery" for a cold drink and all they were selling were guns .
