Morning Mates, it's another beautiful, cooler day here, great for working outside, not too hot. Got some painting done yesterday, on a birdhouse which apparently now houses a wasp's nest. Guess who got stung while trying to spruce up their home?
Another day filled with nothing coming up. I don't mind having the time off, but having no money to do anything gets old fast. 7 1/2 weeks is a long time without any income, waiting for unemployment.
My biggest pleasure these days is taking Griffin for long walk around this beautiful park with the huge pond, where ducks reside. When we were feeding them the other day poor Griffin was going crazy watching and crying from the shore.
Good morning Donna, and all those to follow. It is going to be even hotter today, reaching 105 with a heat index of 115. I have been watering the grass since sun up, and then I will close the curtains, and try to keep the house cool.
We received some good news yesterday. The furlough will end sooner than expected. It sure will be nice to get a full paycheck again.
Well, day 1 has ended, and all is well in our area. I hope day 2 will be just as good.
I hope all of you are well.
Judy, are the latest wild fires in your area. Stay safe!!!
A pleasant day around here today and not to much to do other than a quick trip to the grocery store.
I think I will go to the Wisconsin State Fair tomorrow with my girlfriend , I wonder what crazy food they have this year. I've seen the deep fried butter, chocolate covered bacon and the deep fried PBJ , whats it going to be this year! Thinking I'll stick with my usual corndog & potato pancakes.
Anyone else out there being plagued by telemarketers and robo calls? We had seven of 'em yesterday and the first one today at 8:30 a.m.
We get quite a few. They are from debt collectors. They are for different people and we get a few each day.
We have stopped a few of them but others take their place.
They range in names from Adams to Zews.
Carnival Liberty New Year's Eve 2007
Liberty of the Seas 5/2008+11/2009
Allure 1/16/ 2011
Vision OTS 2-14-2015
We get them all the time and it irritates the heck out of me. My "call block" on my land line is now full.
The majority of them are from charities and others from credit card "consolidators". These are the worst because it's basically a scam to get your credit card number. Their number changes all the time.
My best guess, and based on some tech folks I know, is that if you have a "GE Capital" account you are a target. The GE Capital accounts are common if you did the "one year interest free" offers that places like Dell, Select Comfort, Empire and others use. The one year interest free is great but you better have it paid off in one year or you will be hit with 29.99% on the purchase price even if you only have $1 left on your balance due. GE Capital is notorious for sharing client information but sometimes it gets into the wrong hands. There is no proof of this so it may just be Internet myth but we started getting those calls after we purchased our bed from Select Comfort and used the one year interest free.
