Default Monday Monday

Morning Mates, it's Monday again and I don't care! Ha ha, the benefits of retirement! It'll be a lot better when the benefits finally kick in, I've been waiting 4 weeks already....

Yesterday was a winter wonderland kind of day, so pretty with all the new snow, but then we had melting and rain and it's all gone off the trees again. Colder today at -2C (28F). but sunny so that's bearable.
We are off to the pool for "deck walking" this morning. 20 times around the pool deck = 1 mile, the temperature is a balmy 80, the water is turquoise, and for a half hour I can pretend I am in the Caribbean~!
Have a good week all!

Good morning Donna and all to follow! Retirement is great. I went back to work after my retirement just to stay busy. Otherwise, I would have stayed in bed until noon each day and missed the day. At this time next Monday, I shall be prepared to board the Triumph for the last cruise for awhile.

Have fun friends!

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Courage and perserverance have a magical talisman; before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into the air.

Pick your company wisely! Hang around people who are going to help you become all God created you to be.

Good morning everyone.

It's a nice morning here in Minnesota but we will, once again, plunge into the "POLAR VORTEX......vortex, vortex, vortex." That was my attempt to simulate an echo. We are going back below zero later today and stay that way until Wednesday. What the heck, it's January in Minnesota. What else is new.

Today will be a range day. A friend and I will go and shoot holes in paper targets. We'll see who shoots the best and earns a free lunch. I haven't been to the range in almost a month and that is not a good thing.

I hope everyone has a great Monday and an exciting week.

Michael: I wish you a great cruise on the Triumph.

Donna: Has James become accustomed to you being home all day? I know it took me a little while to get use to Betty being home in the evening.

Take care,

Good morning Mates

It's MLK day, so it is and Holiday for some people in the US. For tose of us who are retired everyday is an Holiday.

Michael, I do hope that you have a nice, enjoyable cruise.

Mike make sure that you bundle up to put up with the Vortex.

Donna, I was never a fan of the winter wonderland. I prefer the tropical wonderland with the palm trees swaying in the warm breezes.

Good morning. No vortex here, either. More like the climate Manuel describes.

Yes, indeed, it's a holiday so very quiet in the neighborhood. Nothing much planned.

Have a good day, everybody.

Surprisingly well, yes Mike. the best part for him is that I have taken over the cooking of dinner, which he used to do every night of the week because I was never home before 6:00. He enjoys having me home, we take the dog out for walks together most days, then otherwise keep busy with separate activities.

Good evening from Virginia Beach where the weather cooperated to a beautiful 62. No such luck tomorrow, or for Wednesday, the temperature is heading south to the low 30's. Rollerdonna, retirement is great. I had actually intended to work until I was sixty-six, but having C-dif as a result of taking Clindamyacin to stop an infection from root canal work being done, changed my plans. The doctors had said that C-dif could come back so, being rational that I am, I decided to quit while I was ahead. Fortunately, I am living off of my savings in my IRA and will be taking my Social Security when I am sixty-six. Actually, our expenses are less now because of being "empty nesters" and because the bulk of our medical expenses are picked up by Tri-Care thanks to Rob's service in the Navy. So many people need to have a supplement to Medicare; thank G-d, we do not! Hope that all of my fellow cruisemates had a great day!

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've posted, but I do read the daily post's often.

It's nice to see that some more people have retired and other's are thinking about it!

We're doing well. A lot of our time is used for doctor's appointment's, but that's a good thing-we have doctor's who can help us!

We're looking at a cruise from LAX to SYD this year !

I hope all of you are doing well and enjoying all of your cruise's,
