Well, it seems like the Costa Riviera has had its share of woes.
The above headline appeared in today's Daily Mail (UK)
Allegedly dozens of British passengers refused after 1 day at sea to sail
any further on a Mediterranean cruise. Cabins on the 37 year old Costa
Riviera were flooded, corridors drenched in sewage, the ship was listing and
diesel fumes were wafting out of the kitchen they said.
The owners said the problems resulted from a 30 day bi-annual service.
The British Consul in Naples boarded the ship to se conditions for himself
About 60 passengers are expected to return home, their flights being paid
for together with a free cruise.

This is the last season for the Riviera, and yes it will be replace by the Tropicale. The Tropicale is currently undergoing a transformation and upgrading to be transferred from Carnival to Costa.
