Default costa atlantica

just back from the 3/21 cruise and would like everyone to know that contrary to some of what i`ve read here, we thoroughly enjoyed this ship, crew and itinerary. my wife and two teenage daughters shared a panorama suite and it was beautiful. our room steward was wonderful as was our butler, elena. i`ve never seen a harder working woman on any cruise !!

the food was comparable to that we`ve had on carnival ncl and rci.

the ports were very good. only complaint we had was at la romana (poor lighting and security ).

entertainment was excellent as were the cruise staff--especially enjoyed talking with vicki. the showes were very good and the toga night a blast. !!

the drink cards are a good buy if you use them for virgin umbrella drinks more than for sodas. we have some extra coupons that i`d be happy to send to someone taking costa on a later cruise. email me.

bottom line: great cruise !!

I agree with Frank, I was on the same cruise, also in a panorama suite deck 6, with my wife and two daughters, age 12 and 9 (the nine year old celebrated her birthday on the cruise). I thought the service to be every bit as good as RCL and Celebrity. We had a perfectly wonderful time, and thought the food to be quit good, in fact some to be excellent, especially the pasta dishes. The tenderloin and seafood served was far superior to the Navigator of the Sea, which we were on last September. Not quite in the class as Celebrity or Radisson, but then given the price, I felt it was absolutely a great value. I did not find any rude people, Europeans or otherwise, only a few Americans who insist on using their hand held walkie talkies with the volume turned up so that anyone within 500 feet has to wait untill they are finished with their "I'm on deck 2, where are you?" conversation before one can continue a conversation. I suppose it's the "weaning from their cell phone " thing. But I digress, anyone thinking of a good slightly better than a middle of the road cruise, I think this is one that will fill the bill.

We just got off the Atlantica 04/04/04 and needless to say I was a bit weary after hearing all the complaints, but I must agree with the prior posts we had a great time, food was excellent and the staff was great. We even ordered a special dessert one night from the Matri'D and were very surprised to have it delivered to us the next evening at dinner, and we were a group of 11. We requested our dining room seating to be changed on the first day and also were granted that request. Our waiter Venky, bus boy Alfredo and our childrens waiter Jose were all marvolous. Our room steward was also very good making sure to restock our ice several times a day and stop by to see if we needed anything. We were in cabin 4160. The entertainment staff around the ship were also much fun and the annoucements in various languages did not bother us one bit, they flowed one after the other and were over in a matter of seconds. Any questions about the Atlantica, please feel free to contact me.

Everyone,

I am so glad you had a great time on your cruises. I know we had a super trip on the Atlantica 03/07/04. It is great to hear about people having a good time. People deserve to enjoy themselves considering all the evil and ugliness in the world. Cheers!
