Appears to be . . . a google seach on that email address and website shows he's advertising everywhere. Looks to be a legit booking agent. I can think of about 5 that my line works with just in the US and Canada - just for the 'crew' orchestra and bands. There are a few in Europe and of course the ever present Rosarios from the Philipines . .
Phil or Liz, your father played on a Carnival ship?
Being a cruise ship musician is a greatr job. You are immersed in playing every day and you are challenged everytime a new act comes on board - you generally get one rehearsal to learn the performers charts before you do the show.
You have to be a really good sight-reader (a talent that is far rarer in musicians these days than it was when big bands were more common).

Yep. He had to fly to San Juan to join the ship at first then I recall driving him from Houston to Miami, dropping him off at the pier and driving home again. Apparently he was told to keep quiet about his pay as it differed from what the others were getting.
He can't do this now, tho. When I told him about the current ad he said
"I got 200 a week plus room and board for 20 hours playing when I went in the 80's. Plus, I haven't learnt anything new since about then!!"
We took him on our last cruise as it was our 10th and he had been our dog and house sitter for the previous 9. We "occupied" a small lounge that had a grand piano in it---unlocked one evening and he had a blast playing for our group.
He really enjoyed the difference being a pax vs a "staff". Apparently musicians were staff and not "crew" so they had different obligations/responsibilities outside playing.
