Provocative clothes?

Hi All,
My wife and I have gone on 2 cruises to nowhere and we are going on our third (Carnival) out of NYC this June. This time we are going with my friend and his wife. His wife is pretty and fit and likes to show it off a little. He asked me if she could wear “slutwear” on the ship. I don’t remember how provocatively you can dress on the ships. What are your thoughts? I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has actually dressed that way. Were you uncomfortable? Did anyone say anything to you?

I think there is a fine line between wearing something a little revealing to show off a nice figure and looking trashy. That being said, I think she should wear whatever makes her feel comfortable. There are many opportunities to show off a nice body in a pretty bikini by the pool or in a beautiful evening gown on formal night.

well first of all are there going to be familys (kids) on this cruise, if you had kids how would you feel ?? secondly just how trashy are we talking, our half of her boobs going to be showing, or her butt when she leans over ,our the nipples barely going to be covered up ?? only you know them best , & yes heads would turn in this case (mens heads that is).. put you & your wife in their shoes .. PS dont for get about the kids

If the husband is referring to his wife's clothing as "slutwear" I would hate to see what she wears :>(

Anyway - she can wear whatever she wants - I am sure they both enjoy the attention

there is a fine line between classy, sexy and elegant and as your friend put it "slutwear". She can dress in a sexy, long clingy dress that shows her curves and some leg and be very elegant or she can dress in a skin-tight dress with her boobs and butt sticking out all over the place, its her choice, but there will be children aboard and people will make comments.

Thanks for the info. I'll pass it along. I didn't ask him what he meant by "slutwear" but it sure had me wondering.

A group of 30 of us went on the 3 day cruise out of LA into Ensenada. Each night we dressed up differently. One of the couples was celebrating their 25th anniversary by renewing their vows in a ceremony on ship. And oh how I hate her....she still fit into her original wedding dress..... And...he found the same TAN tux that he wore 25 yrs ago....lol So,,,the day getting on the ship and going to the ceremony we all dressed in 70's clothes. The next night we all wore togas. We even had some other guests, after seeing us in our togas, get into togas. And on the last night, we dressed up as "Pimps & Hoes"... It was great....the guys all wore the suits and big jewerly, kinda pimp looking....lol The ladies all wore....well..."slutty" "hoe" type clothes.
We got a lot of looks, but hey...it was fun!

But to answer the posters question.....

If his wife feels comfortable in her "slutwear" then its entirely up to her to wear it. And if she looks GOOD in it....then go for it. Its no ones business.

My bestfriends mom wore stuff like that all the time on our cruise. She was like a Pam Anderson look alike. When we walked around islands we got several stares.

Glen, if you friend's wife wants to look like a slut and he doesn't mind... well... I guess that's their thing. BUT, ask YOUR wife how she will feel (walking into the dining room, going to a show, walking around the ship, etc) with this woman and her husband. If it were me, I'd hate it and I'd probably not be a very good sport about it. I'd be extremely embarrassed and would find "excuses" to not be seen with the three of you. Can you say "headache?"

Good advice. I've already discussed the fact that they wanted to know if there was a topless deck and that she would be wearing a thong. My wife's reply was... "hey, if I had the body, I would do it to". Her and my feelings are if they are fine with it, then we are fine with it. We're both open minded and it's not hurting us.

I think that she should wear whatever whe wants, and if that includes 'slutwear', well, then, good for her. And, I feel that I speak for many of the men she would encounter
