Default Pre-Cruise Suitcase

Here's my dilema.

We are spending 3-nights in NYC before our 13-night cruises then 3-nights after.

We are flying from Florida to NY, non-stop (please pray they don't lose my luggage, Miami is notorious for that).

I hate to lug so much luggage since we will go from car to plane, taxi to hotel, taxi to ship, taxi to hotel, then taxi to plane and plane to car. Yikes...did you get al l that.

My husband always complains that the luggage is too heavy and I hate lugging so much luggage.

Anyway, I was wondering does anyone have any ideas on how to pack for the pre- post-cruise then the cruise gear and don't forget the carry-on for meds, jewelry, camera.

This was my thought:

One 29-inch hardcase on wheels for all the cruisewear.

One 22-inch sofcase on wheels for NYC pre- post clothes, then I don't have to go into the hardcase.

One 19 inch softcase to carry on.

Anyone have any other options?

Thanks.

Default Re: Pre-Cruise Suitcase

i think that packing your "cruise clothes" separate is a great idea.
Weigh your bags to make sure that you are not over the airlines weight limit.
2 smaller bags are easier to lug around that 1 big one -IMO
Plan on doing some laundry on the cruise so that you don't have to pack as much.
Mix and match your pre and post-cruise clothes- who cares if you wear the same outfit pre and post cruise as long as its neat & clean
Definatley put all meds, jewlery, documents, camera's etc in the carry-on.
Use skycaps, bellhops and porters whenever possible.
