Default glory clothing

We are going on the Glory next month. How formal are the formal nights? Can the men wear khakis and a sport coat? Do the women have to be dressed all glitzty or can they wear a nice dress? How dressed up do the kids have to be???
Please help!

the general rule when it comes to "formal wear" is to wear something that you would wear to an EVENING WEDDING with a reception at your local country club or better downtown hotel. You will find that most of the men will be wearing dark suits, i would save the khakis for casual night, get a pair of dress pants, dress shirt & tie and put that with the sports jacket for formal nights. As for the ladies, you will see everything from ball gowns to dressy cocktail dresses, long dressy skirts with silky/sparkly tops, dressy pants with silky/sparkly tops.
Most kids get dressed up for formal nights. Boys - dress pants, dress shirt/tie, dress shoes, sports jacket isn't necessary, but if they have one, bring it.
Girls - dressy party dresses are fine, Kmart has some really cute dressy Easter dresses that would be perfect for formal nights.

Ok here's my rule of thumb. At least where men are concerned.

Formal = Jacket + tie

Semi formal = Jacket - no tie

Casual = no jacket

Of course for all of the above no jeans, sandals, sneakers, shorts or t shirts (unless your wearing a really nice t-shirt and its under a jacket. Which I'd lean AGAINST because its sorta 1980's Miami Vice. Instead a short sleeve polo shirt looks very snappy under a nice sports jacket!)

Hint: Go buy yourself 1 nice black jacket and you can use it for both formal night AND semi formal night.
