I saw a pair of black denim pants that were hard to tell were denim unless you looked very close. I was wondering if those with nice dress shoes, a dress shirt and sport coat would be acceptable for formal night on Princess cruises?

Maybe in California but not on a Cruise.

not for formal nights, you have the dress shirt, dress shoes, and a jacket just add a tie and a pair of nice dress pants and you will be all set for formal night on Princess
