Default movie quotes...

Okay, since trivia seems to be the theme of the week in Chit-Chat, I thought I'd join the fray with my own trivia topic.

A couple movie quotes have come out recently and my wife will attest that I'm the king of movie quotes. (actually not, I just watch a lot of movies and remember the weirdest lines... lol)

What movie is this from?

Last week, Japanese scientists explaced... placed explosive detonators at the bottom of Lake Loch Ness to blow Nessie out of the water. Sir Cort Godfrey of the Nessie Alliance summoned the help of Scotland's local wizards to cast a protective spell over the lake and its local residents and all those who seek for the peaceful existence of our underwater ally.

Feel free to provide your own for us to guess.

Jeff, I don't think I saw that movie.

You have to lob me a easy one. I like the comedies.

Darlene,

This was from a movie more suited for teenagers, but I've seen it a couple times with my daughter. Someone will know this one for sure, probably Katlady... lol

I'll toss out some easier ones as the day goes by.

Oh, that's an easy one Dean. Animal House! Great movie.

Okay, how about:

"I don't want no volunteers, I don't want no mates, there's too many captains on this island. Ten thousand dollars for me by myself. For that you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing."

Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner!

I'm an old fart, or so my daughter thinks, and for some reason, this movie just cracks me up. My daughter hates that I'll be watching it when she has friends over... lol

Here's one: It's a bit off color and edited to remove most of the off color words but it's one of my favorite scenes.

There's a passage I got memorized. Ezekiel 25:17. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

I been sayin' that **** for years. And if you ever heard it, it meant your ass. I never really questioned what it meant. I thought it was just a cold-blooded thing to say to a before you popped a cap. But I saw some stuff this mornin' made me think twice. Now I'm thinkin': it could mean you're the evil man. And I'm the righteous man. And Mr. 9mm here, he's the shepherd protecting my righteous ass in the valley of darkness. Or it could be you're the righteous man and I'm the shepherd and it's the world that's evil and selfish. I'd like that. But that ain't the truth. The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin', Ringo. I'm tryin' real hard to be a shepherd.

What's the movie and who is the actor reciting these line?

Take care,
Mike

A second one from my favorite movie: Different movie from the previous post.

Mr. Rat, I have a writ here says you're to stop eating Chin Lee's cornmeal forthwith. Now it's a rat writ, writ for a rat, and this is lawful service of the same.

What is the movie and who is the actor reciting the lines?

Take care,
Mike

It's from a John Wayne movie, Mike. I just can't put the name of the movie on it though...

You got it, Andy. Yes, there are so many great quotes from that movie. Tarantino did a fantastic job on that movie and pretty good on Kill Bill but has gradually gone down the "Porcelain Convenience" since then. I couldn't believe how bad Grindhouse was. Especially his "Deathproof" half. I was expecting something wonderful and all I saw were three (or more) wonderful cars destroyed for a mediocre car chase and a very sore rear end.

You have half of it. It's probably his most "recognized" movie.

Take care and one last question?

Butter or no butter?

One more:

There's only one proper way for a professional soldier to die: the last bullet of the last battle of the last war.

What was the movie and who was the character and actor who portrayed him?

Take care,
Mike[/i]

Gosh: I loved Cool Hand Luke: Strother Martin was great in his role as the Captain. I also loved "The Man with No Eyes".
