The rumor is the voice of the captain of the Bozeman (as heard in the subspace messages near the beginning) was in fact Kelsey Grammar. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Bozeman Not sure if the rumor is true. Doesn't matter away because I used the original star trek cast leonard nimory wasn't in this movie at all.

Kat,

To clarify, Kelsey Grammer played the captain of the Bozeman, in the Next Generation episode, Cause And Effect.

The episode begins with the destruction of the Enterprise, and continues with a "causality loop", in which the Enterprise is trapped. A certain sequence of events repeats in this causality loop which always lead to the Enterprise colliding with the Bozeman, until the crew of the Enterprise figure a way out of the loop.

At the very end of the episode, after the collision is avoided, the Enterprise makes contact with the Bozeman, and Kelsey Grammer answers, and is shown on screen for 10-15 seconds. He is not seen or heard prior to this scene.

And yes, I've seen this episode too many times! But it's a good one........!

Speaking of Mae West -- in the U.S. Navy, life preservers are referred to as Mae Wests. (I have no idea why!)
