Kat what celebrity ship(s) have you been on?

Everyone is still sleeping! I guess I'll just do some Folk Dancing until my buddies wake up! 8)

A funny true story for the Celebrity Cruisers and all cruisers.

Last week I went to hospital I had to get Scanned

So there I am sitting in a chair in the "scanning room" waiting for the nurse to come in to begin the procedure.

This is what it looks like

I'm looking at this big bulky machine and I noticed on the side it said
"GE - Millennium"

Seeing the word Millennium put cruising on my mind. The nurse enters the room the test begins and there I lay on this machine for 30 minutes but I was able to close my eyes and think about cruising! 8) 8)

Hey CQ I have been in a machine like that. Mine was an MRI machine I had three different appointments in the machine. No metal so I couldn't wear a bra.

The Celebrity cruise ship I was on was the Infinity. Oh the results of the hair test are in. I knew it would be a close vote 8 people voted Model A and 11 People voted model B. I put the answer on the thread. Check it out thanks for voting.

My MRI in '93 was a hole in the wall. They slid me in with just my feet sticking out.
I'd sit there in silence and BOOM the machine would start up.
I just KNOW the nurses were laughing as my feet would jump up.

Looks like they've improved it.

CQ good advice about staying away from hospitals. Now I have to tell you about the Intinity. When we got aboard the Infinity in Honolulu in 2003 I thought I was in heaven. We all got a lei as well as glasses of champagne and the ship looked so beautiful it turned out to be an excelent cruise.. Of course we got spoiled because this was the first time we had a cabin with a balcony, now there is no going back.

TM you were on the Infinity in 2005? Your cruise resume says 2003. Were you on it twice? Which is your favorite celebrity ship??

I see you were on the Mercury a few times? What did you think of it?

Thank you CQ you are right as usual, I was on the Infinity in 2003. I liked the Infinity and the Summit very much, but the service aboard the Mercury was allways A+. We happened to like those intineraries that's why we did the Mercury 3 times.

Manuel
PS I'm looking forward to the Liberty OTS

Oh ok TM just making sure there is not a mistake on your cruise resume.
I was on the Mercury once however I guess we picked a bad week. It was an older crowd. not much going on I think everyone went to bed at 9pm. One evening the lobby was empty it was at 10:30ish the only person I found was my mother sitting in a chair praying her rosary beads. Disco and bars there were a few people in them. There were two people that had heart attacks and had to be airlifted back to Fort Lauderdale. TM, That looked pretty scary to be airlifted. I hope nothing ever happens to the family while on a cruise.

It was what I call an "odd ball" cruise it was friday to friday.

I tend to focus on the good was it a bad vacation NO.
food was good, service outstanding, weather wonderful and best of all the first cruise that my mom and dad came along.

I will be cruising celebrity again.

CG and Manuel,
Wife and I just finished our 2nd HAL cruise...also did NCL's Pearl a year ago.
She says (and that's what counts) that she will do HAL again anytime but wants to try Celebrity next.
Honestly, what is the wosrt part about cruising with Celebrity?
Of course I want to know the good stuff, too.

WOuld you cruise NCL again? I'm thinking there must be a big differance between HAL and NCL.

I never say never...but,

NCL was such a disappointment in the food category that we are going to give a few other lines a shot.

It should be noted that NCL is pushing a new menu since we cruised with them. We hope to hear good reviews because we really enjoyed most of the rest of our cruise. Plus, they cost quite a bit less than HAL.

How did you like freestyle?

We did like Celebrity and would cruise with them in a heart beat. We just happened to pick a bad week. I don't mind an older crowd as long as they are fun and out and about the ship. I make friends quickly on a cruise - male, female, younger, older, white, black or GREEN.

After all I'm part croatian part Italian and part Alien!

Let's see 2007 we went to Mexico; so 2006 was the Infinity cruise to Alaska. Hey TM together we did a Fire and Ice Cruise. I had a simlar experience to CQ it was an older crowd and not much to do. I think if you go on a cruise to relax and sit in the sun it's good. But me and the hubby are action people we do all the trivia and game stuff. I'm good at movie trivia. Like scary good. Celebrity just didn't have enough of these activities for us. Alaska is wonderful I would cruise there again, on Carnival.

Oh and a note on the food I don't know if infinity had a bad week (12 day cruise) but the food in the dining room was only good part of the time (the service was excellent all through the ship). The shrimp was overcooked, the prime rib was tough and stringy. The best food we had was in the pay restuarant and the food and service was well worth the extra fee. Very good there I wish it was better in the dining room. LAST!!!

So Kat you prefer Carnival?

Mom and dad will be taking the whole family on a cruise in 2009 for their anniversary. Mom is a big Celebrity fan so I think we will end up on a Celebrity ship. Yeah a free cruise in 2009!

TM is last again.
OK, let's get back to cruise lines. On my recent Carnival cruise the food was not nearly as good as it has been on Celebrity. Kat mentioned trivia games and other activities, I like those also but I always found things like that on Celebrity. On my last cruise on the Mercury we got invited to the captains table and on the same night there was a cocktail party for elite Captain clu menbers. Between those two events there was so much booze flowing I felt that I was flying. I also enjoy the oldies music on Celebrity and the sock hop. I have spoiled myself on our last 4 cruises we have been doing concierge class, and it does come with a few nice touches,
