Hi Gang!!

I say the gang moves in with the Tm's for the rest of the winter!!

I'm with Moiraine in downgrading....less space equals less bills and less cleaning...

Wow 19 cruise sites? I only know of two.

Happy Open Bar/Bra Friday.

Moiraine, I understand the downsizing idea. We fill up at Christmas but ramble around an empty house most of the time.

The plumbing is back in business though it cost us a cruise + airfare + pre-cruise hotel.

Hi Gang!!

Weekend is here!

There is always something that needs to be repaired or updated when you are a homeowner. And many times repairs/updates do cost the amount of a cruise!

TM what and where is an open debate thread?

LF No we don't want to mention any cruise forum names....The CM boss man will put me in timeout or ground me....

Good morning Gang. We had sleet last night. Thankfully, it's warmed up intot he upper 30s today and it's not a problem. The weather people blew the forecast though because they did not see it coming.

I stayed up way too late reading. I just lost track of time. Oh well.

This morning I went to the gym .There are 2 overhead tv's .I put on one and put on an all music station .A woman exercising proclaimed that she hates music ,amazing ,but true.

Good morning Gang

Well I bought a iPad yesterday. I have been looking at tablets for a couple of years and have never made a decision. finally the DW bought me a kindle fire for Christmas and threw in a little upgrade cash. this is where i ended up. We are hoping it will be a handy travel tool. Not sure if I am ready to embrace the keyboard yet. It is a little rough when I am used to touch typing.

Airfares still will not budge!

Do have an option to cruise out of Galveston on Princess.
I hear Galveston is not great to cruise from......Never been on Princess I wonder if it would be an older crowd?

It is March though spring break?? should be families onboard? maybe not that many though.

Galveston is a beautiful city with great seafood restaurants .There is also a wonderful historical area.

Had lunch with my brother.

My mom called to say she wanted to move down here. Good chance she'll be moving in with me.

CQ, I've been one one cruise out of Galveston. Going through customs coming back in is hell. They actually take it seriously. There are long waiting lines to go through. The other thing is the airport is in Houston and the port is in Galveston. If you get a transfer it's not a problem. We took the train out of Little Rock and the took their bus service from Long View to Galveston because the other half won't get on a plane. I'd rather not do that again.

Our cruise that time was on spring break. There were a load of college students.

Moiraine that's great your Mom is willing to move in with you. I have been trying to get mom and dad to move in but they are set in their ways and won't do it and want to stay in their home. Their home is too big for them plus they are getting older.

I hear Galveston is a nice area to visit however that trip from the airport to pier is a pain. I got a rate of $200. roundtrip from a shuttle company. I'll give it some thought. What ship were you on at that time??

CQ, it was our first cruise...when the Carnival Conquest was sailing out of Galveston.

Well, we'll see if mom will come through. I'm not going to move if she will. There is no sense. I'll need the storage and space. I had/have my daughter in the master bedroom because when dad was here I needed to be in a bedroom by him where I could here him when he called. I told her I'd move the daughter to dad's old room and she could have the master. She will have room for her twin bed, tv, and loveseat, along with her other stuff, and there is a large walkin closet, plus she'll have her own bathroom. I also told her we'd get a landline for in there for her because she won't use a cell.

She was talking about moving into a senior center here though, in which case I'll go ahead and downgrade. I'm afraid after a while she'll need to move in with me. It might get cramped in the summer when my daughter is in.
