Marci and Harry!
Capt Ron and I will be joining you. Just think! Our first "real" Cruisemates Cruise!
Our unofficial one wasn't bad either. This will be our first Carnival, but it comes highly recommended (by Harry & Art, of course!)

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT -- SHAR TOO!

Can't wait to see you and Capt Ron again from our last outing on the Star Princess. Too good of rates, huh??

Art is gonna be so happy when I tell him in the morning.

And, Cruiseguy, you can see Shar and Capt Ron on our Star Princess gallery -- just search under Harry Martin.

So neat! We are in 8182 -- an extended balcony.

Excellent! I really wanted a chance to get to know you guys better. Hope you'll find some time for us! If it's too cold for the aft pool, maybe you'd like to come down to our deck and join us on our aft balcony!

I'm so excited!! Please be sure to see my post to your announcement on the Chit Chat board.

PS- Can you bring drinks on board Carnival?

On drinks, just put 'em in the checked baggage as usual.

Shar you will love this class of ship -- check our my Spirit ship photos. The Spirit was in our Top 2 with the Star Princess after 10 cruises.

Looks like we all can get together on the back of the ship. We booked a Cat. 11 (4228), deck 4, corner veranda. The back of the ships are the only way to go (hope the cruiselines don't pick up on this). Harry, saw your pictures of the Spirit, looks like you two had a great time.

Anyone into doing a whale watching tour in Cabo? We did the Kaliedoscope tour last time but it was'nt whale season yet. Its a great little boat (100ft catamaran) and ALL you can drink.

Hi Cruiseguy!
We can chat over the railing. Are you saying that the Kaliedoscope tour does whale watching in season? We took the ship sponsored tour last March and plan to whale watch again, let me know what you come up with. We whale watched on a beautiful old sailboat out of PV and would like to do something similar there again.

Harry!
Our balcony has two recliners, all you need to do is bring pillows )

Shar and Cruiseguy, February is *the* time for whale-watching, I am 90 percent positive.

Can't believe everyone is aft (but us). Of course, we took the Walmart approach and bought the cheapest balcony cabin possible (so what if we have to staff the Lido deck party on tropical night) ;-)

Shar, just saw your mention (somewhere) that you were gonna book the same hotel for a pre-cruise stay.

Just wanted to let you know that Carnival moved its terminal to the former Spruce Goose building outside the Queen Mary, so San Pedro is not as close anymore.

I read elsewhere that teh Best Western Long Beach for $110 a night will let you keep your car in its underground garage for the cruise length. Also, I did a search on Hotwire, and it has a 4-star hotel in Long Beach for $109 a night and a 3-star for $61 a night.

I just wanted to ensure you didn't book the Shearton again in San Pedro.

Your correct Harry, whale season in Mexico is between mid December and March. We can book this tour on the ship. I don't think you bought the cheapest room, I think thats maybe all they had left. You have a cat.8i. Good room. After final payment date you may want to see if there are any rooms on the back. This happens quite frequently. Those back cabins are the best. We won't sail on any ships without them now.

Wow! We just crossed paths. OK, thanks for the warning! I'd sure like to stay at the Queen Mary for $109. Only problem is the $70+ for pier parking @ $10 a day.
I think I can wait awhile for the hotel reserv. I'll wait and see what comes up.

Cruiseguy, we would love an aft ... maybe I should let Ginny know this.

But for upgrades cost, I always add up and say, "That's the tips."

Ginny was great and got us the 8I for the 8A cost, so I felt lucky then, because 1st she was sold out at the bottom balcony rate.

We also liked on the Spirit that we could pop one deck up from Panorama at midnight for a pizza slice or two (now to get rid of those 3 pounds before this cruise!)

:-)

Shar, Cruiseguy, Marci, Mark, et al ...

Pardon the soon-to-be-generic message, but I was thinking let's consolidate trip/port/hotel/cruise sharing information under a new thread.

That way we can all check under one message thread for news about the Cruisemates cruise on the Pride (and all others joining us will know where to go).

I will set up a new post/thread titled "Cruisemates Cruise on the Pride" under the "Cruisemates Cruises" section under "People."

I hope this way all of us can check in for the latest news in the quickest manner -- we had about 4-5 notes going on different boards here.

Hope that's OK. ... Gonna post this on the other message threads now, too.

Harry
