I'm booking a Caribbean cruise for early December, and wonder whether I should try Radisson. I'm middle-aged and single, and loved the two Crystal Cruises I took last year. Should I stick with Crystal or try Radisson? Both have cruises out of Fort Lauderdale in early December, and the Crystal itinerary is a little more interesting. I have a feeling there are fewer singles on Radisson. Am I right?
I believe I replied to you on the cruisecritic boards. But, to reply here, I did not care for the treatment I received on Radisson as a single woman. Unlike Seabourn where the single women receive invitations to dinner each night from a staff person or a ship's officer, no such thing happened on Radisson. It was very unnerving for me to walk into the dining room each night, alone, and sit at a table.
Radisson is a bit less dressy and you won't find the wide array of lectures that draw passengers together. Plus, Crystal attracts many more singles due to its lower single occupancy rate. If you love Crystal, you may want to continue with this line. Radisson is equally good, but less social and frequented by couples.
