Looking for advice on shore excurions (or not) to the Fjords. Trying to decide between two particular choices - both to view sights for the photo ops.
Any suggestions and tips will be greatly appreciated.
The balance of the ports on the QE2 6 Juloy sailing we are pretty much going to do our own thing but once we are going to the Fjords - we want to be sure to experience them properly.
Gillian - might be able to help, did Norway in 2003 on Coronia. We did our own thing in Bergen and Stavanger.
Great trip to do is the "Norway in a nutshell (overland from Flaam to Voss) - includes the Flaam railway, which is spectacular. What ports are you calling at?

iam doing mostly the excursion in the book apart from flaam and bergen. as not been there before as i don't want to miss anything.

Oslo - hop on and off bus was great - but time was not on our side. One day in Olso is way too little to do all there is on offer.
Bergen - did the funicular and a one hour tour.
Stavanger - perfect to just walk around.
Geiranger - which was my main queriy - did the excurion to Mount Dalsnibba and it was my highlight! I am sure the whol day excursion from Hellesylt would have been even better - but it was way more expensive adn we are relaly happy with the one we did.
