I would suggest in order 8014,8016,8018. They are obstructed but with the best view. We have stayed in 8016 and 8018. If you look at www.deluxecruises.com there is a deck plan showing the placement of the lifeboats.
We have booked the corresponding cabin on the starboard side (8013) for a 2006 cruise, based partly on Ken's experience and because we wanted the view from the other side. We also studied the pictures and deck plans. I noticed the new Cunard deck plan shows the first two obstructed cabins on each side are B-6 and the remaining are B-5. Perhaps being further toward the bow is less desireable????. I think you would do well with 8013 or 8014 if they're available, and if you can put up with a little motion.
Good Luck
Rick
thanks for the info.
we are in 8091 and the b6 are now sold out- so it will have to do.
as for me- i am a first timer at the sea. here is hoping that the "motion" will be
minimal at 8091.....
thanks again ED
Think the first poster was citing QE2 cabins. Just returned from July 11 crossing. Best cabin (with obstructed view] 8043 or 8047 and corresponding cabins on the port side. View was slightly obstructed by the smaller life boat. I thought it was the best value on the ship. Cabin 9091 is quite far foward and will involve much walking! Try for a cabin a little bit more mid-ship. But don't worry you will have a fabulous trip where ever you are.
