You almost have to get a brochure to see the options. A hotel stay gives you use of their transportation system. Most popular package includes entrance to one theme park a day. Four days and you've seen them all. An entry ticket isn't required after hours to go into a park to eat. There are packages that give you free access to any park any time, others include unlimited beverages on the property and one includes all meals taken on the property.
Be sure to pay with American Express. It is the *official* credit card and will raward you with some *secret* benefits that make using it worth while.
The beauty of the land/sea package is that you don't touch your bags while in Orlando. They are collected at the airport and taken to your hotel to be in your room when the mouse bus deposits you at the door. Last day you check out and your bags head for Port Canaveral. You can get a few more hours on the property before heading for the ship. You can complete the ship's check-in at the hotel so that you walk from the bus directly onto the ship. Not quite as exclusive now that you have to swing through the lobby to go through security. Last night your luggage disappears from outside your room and is next seen on the carousel at home.
Most people think that's great. Personally I drive up to the cage, watch while my bags are loaded, grudgingly put them outside my room the last night, don't go to breakfast until I see them (lots of yellow tape) off loaded and taken into the terminal to be collected and taken to the parking lot. Convenience or paranoia, your choice.
More than you ever wanted to know.
