Default Egypt? Does a cruise line do it anymore

In August 2001, I took the Millennium in the Med and it stopped in Alexandria for the day for tours in Cairo. I am taking my nieces next summer for their graduation presents (one a year late, one a year early - the curse of being 'single' uncle John!) and was originally looking at the Baltic, but am now leaning towards the Med, so much history to see that I think they would like. I thought a stop i Egypt would just thrill them to no end.

I have not yet found a cruise line that stops (has to be late June to Mid August) there? Anyone know of one??

english package holiday company, thomson, used to, my friend did it. Unfortunately she was not very impressed with the whole cruise and found the tours very, very overpriced. she told me it was about GBP120.00 per person. She found the ship to be very cheaply decorated, bad food and lines, lines, lines. These cruises really are the cheap end of the market. Why don't you try a nile cruise instead?

What do you mean this isn't how they eat onboard?

I was in Egypt in april 2004 with the Costa Europa.

In Alexandria, we had no problems, just a kind of bodygard in the bus with the guide,
and we went to museums , different sites and even shops without any fear.

To go to the pyramids it's quite the same with more security staff, but the passengers (Americans & Europeans) I' spoke to were also very pleased with their excursion.

Hope it will help you.
