I am planning a trip on Carnival's Holiday with a very active 2 year old. Would like some information on the decks and railing. I am very concerned about him falling overboard. What type of safegaurds are there to prevent this?
Hi JT! My two daughters are REALLY active. They have been cruising since before they could walk. Next week will be our third year. Stay to the inner areas of the ship, say around the pool. Carnival's Paradise had glass walls to separate the pool areas from the outer railing walkways. Als. the kids pool area had a reinforcement netting around the railing. Good cruising!
Good question. Most large ships these days have safety plexiglass around the railings in public deck areas. Some verandahs may or may not, however, have the plexiglass and instead just have railings. If that's the case, you'll have to keep your balcony door locked if applicable.
My daughter started cruising at 2-1/2 and we never were concerned about safety. The ships today are well equipped to meet family's needs.
Smooth sailing!
