Default Norwegian Jewel

I have a couple of rooms on hold for a Western Caribbean cruise for April 12, 2009. It is a short 5 day cruise with stops in Cozumel and Grand Cayman. I am really looking forward to going. Has anyone cruised on the Jewel before? Any tips on what I should see or do?

Thanks for the help

Karen

Will you be going with kids? If so, how old? The ship has some fun family amenities including a rock wall and first ever bowling alley at sea.

Smooth sailing,

We sailed on the Jewel last November. I have five children ages, 16, 12, 10, 8 and 5 months at the time. They all had a wonderful time. The kids/teen camp took good care of my kids and they loved going.

Have a great time..

From my understanding there is no rock wall or bowling alley on the Jewel. You'll have to book the Gem or Pear for thous.

As far as the ship goes, it's beautiful but not as much "Things to do" for the teens. More of a chill out ...lay at the pool kind of thing. Grand cayman...we enjoyed sting ray city.

You may want to post on the NCL board for more ship info. Have fun!!

Oops -- I stand corrected -- I guess I confused "gem" with "jewel" -- I wonder why!?! Yes, it's the newer Norwegian Gem that has the rock wall and bowling alley, not hte Jewel as I previously stated. After 20 years in the cruise industry, the sameness of the ship names gets to you!
