Norwegian Jewel or Carnival Liberty with 2 year old

Hi everyone - this is my first post! We are hoping to book our cruise today and have been looking at two options for the end of March.

Norwegian Jewel nine day sailing - visiting the Dominican Republic, Tortola (BVI), Antigua, Barbados and St. Lucia departing March 28, 2008

Carnival Liberty eight day sailing - visiting Nassau (bahamas), Tortola (BVI), Antigua, St. Thomas and San Juan departing March 29, 2008

This is our first cruise, and we are hoping for some input as to which would be better for our two year old. Does anyone have any stories for us?

I've been reading reviews of each ship and I'm hearing a lot of bad things about the food on the Jewel. We are real foodies and really don't want to have to pay extra for every meal. Any help here?

Carnival has excellent food -- can't go wrong in that department.

Also, while both Carnival and NCL take 2 year olds in their youth programming, Carnival's counselors change diapers while NCL's doesn't. Thus, you can't leave the ship and have to be on call at NCL to come change your child's diapers if needed in the youth program.

So I'm leaning towards recommending Carnival to you.
