Default travel insurance

We are ready to make our second payment on our trip, and if we want travel insurance we need to pay for it at that time. Should we or not get this insurance. About half the people in our group are getting the insurance. We already have our airplane tickets we don't plan on backing out of our trip. Any advise our there.

From the people on this board it is well worth the money, you never know what could happen, sickness on board etc. I will always get it.

Insurance from the cruise lines is not your best bet. Coverage is often better, and cheaper from 3rd party insurers.
I think insurance is a MUST, but you can check around for deals.

I got some for this cruise thru travelex but my last cruise I didn't. Luckily we didn't need it. This time I'm prepared and our coverage covers loss of baggage, delay of baggage, medical expenses, medical evac, trip interruption, trip cancellation, even loss of employment which makes you unable to go....even saw something if you get into an auto accident on your way to the port (we are driving). Seems really worth it since we only paid 105 for the 3 of us. I think it's worth it to know you're insured in case something does happen.

Some policies cover pre-existing if you get it within 14 days of final payment too.

You could always go to insuremytrip.com to see how much it would be and compare policies.

I've answered my own question. Yes I will get the insurance. Just got back from a family reunion yest. and a family member went on a cruise last Jan. 5 weeks before the trip the drs. discovered breast cancer. They didn't buy the insurance. ( they ad a party of 7) the cruise was $6000. Three days before the cruise the drs. let her go on the trip. That convince me to buy. (Kathy if you read this best of luck to you).
