Default Anxiety???

Hello Everyone!
I was wondering if there's anyone out there that is like me! I am very much looking forward to our first cruise this coming October. I am, however, slightly concerned about one thing. I am not an adventurous person by any means! I love to see new places and meet new people, but when it comes to risk taking, I'm a big chicken! I don't fly and don't drive in the snow! I'm a little concerned that I'm going to get out into the ocean and not see land and freak out! This is in no way a major problem. It doesn't affect my social activities or anything, but the thought has crossed my mind. I'm not claustrophobic or extremely nervous. I guess I'm what you would call "high strung" and a little jittery. I've seen people post things about being afraid of heights on the ships- one thing that I'm not afraid of, but I was just wandering if anyone felt like me before their first cruise and how it went.
Thanks so much!

Sorry, I never felt that way, in truth though, after many years of offshore fishing I don't feel comfortable UNTIL I'm out of sight of land. Being out there on the ocean within your own little world and community is comforting to me.

Imagine yourself in a huge resort hotel. In the lobby area of the hotel you see shops, disco, bars, casino, a trio playing music and glass elevators running up and down. There's people sitting on sofas chatting. Kids are milling about. People are wandering through the shops looking at the different items.

This is the scene on the ship. You won't even know you are on the water until you go outdoors to look.

Regards,
Thomas

Thanks for your thoughts. That's what I wanted to hear! I honestly don't think that there's going to be any problem. I think (and I'm hoping) that my mind will be either too relaxed or too preoccupied to think of anything negative!
Thanks again!
Gina

Gina, I was a little nervous about being out there too. Trust me, you will be fine and won't even think about it. Your anxiety is going to come when you get back home and go through withdrawal from the cruise. The time spent on your vacation will pass by way too fast. Enjoy your experience and don't worry about anything except what you are going to do next on the ship and in ports. Take time to do nothing at all except relax and
take it all in. What ship will you be sailing? I know you will have a wonderful time.
