Default how early should I book?

Well, after MUCH research I think I have finally selected a line, ship, itinerary and date for our first cruise! Whew! Royal Caribbean, Radiance, December 11, Western Caribbean. Oh, I even have a preferred cabin. Now the question is,
How soon should I book? I don't want to pay the deposit before I need to, but also don;t want to miss out.

Thanks for your advice!

Book as early as you can. I booked my cruise for April 2005 in June 2004. Since I booked its already increased over $250/pp. It just went up another $20/pp this week. Also, if someone books ahead of you they could book "your" preferred cabin. If you book now and the price goes down, you can get the lower price. Keep checking. If it goes down just call your travel agent and they will get the price adjusted.

I should clarify that if the price goes down before the final payment is due, you can get the lower price.

I too would book as soon as possible, especially if you picked out a specific cabin. You'll need to contact a travel agent and even see if that cabin is available, if not he/she can tell you what cabins are still open. You picked a beautiful ship, I know you'll love it.
