Default Currency Conversion Question

Hi! First time cruiser leaving April 22 on the NCL Jewel. When we reach port in, Portugal, Italy and Greece, should we use cash or travel checks to convert into Euros? Are there conversion spots at all ports?

We use our Debit card & get some local cureency at the ATM's
Take a small amount with you from home to get you started incase there is no ATM close to the dock.
There is usually an a ATM fee so take out enough for the trip at once ...leave extra cash in the safe onboard and just take enough for the day ashore.

You will need a 4 digit PIN so be sure to check with your bank before you go if you have more.

The ship will usually change money for you for a fee

We have a capitol one card. They do not charge a conversion fee. I personally don't use debit cards anywhere since I don't want anyone to have direct access to my checking account and with a credit card you do have protection. If you need small amounts of cash, you can get some exchanged onboard at the pursers desk.

Life is too short to let the ship of your dreams sail without you.
