My husband and I will be on the Carnival Miracle 10/22/07 for our first cruise (we our in our early 50s). Any suggestions for shore excursions? I really want to snorkle but there are so many to choose from. I don't mind spening the money as long as I get my money's worth. I am open to all suggestions!
In St. Maarten you could do the Americas Cup Regatta. Thats always a lot of fun and very popular. One time we did the Rhino boats there, that was also a lot of fun. If you just want to go to the beach, there is Orient beach.
In St. Kitts another nice beach is Turtle beach. You can get a cab in town to take you, very nice and scenic ride.
I highly recommend Thenford Grey of Thenford Grey's Island Tours on St. Kitts. It includes stops or drive-bys of the city highlights and can end in a beach stop. The views and the fort itself at Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park are incredible IMO, and the lush tropical gardens at the Romney Manor-Caribelle Batik gallery are worth seeing too. http://www.thenfordgrey.com/The_Tour.html
(try to get Thenford himself for your tour leader)
