How to avoid 3% surcharge at the casino besides brining cash

Princess charges 3% at the casino if one charges money to shipboard account. So besides bringing cash (including travellers checks), is there any other way to avoid any surcharge? Will link the shipboard account to my bank checking or savings account work to avoid the surcharge? Do they also have a limit on how much one can cash for travellers checks on board? Thanks for any advice.

If you got ahold of Princess Casino dept. you could likely arrange to predeposit a sum with them to draw on without incurring the service charge. Otherwise cash or travellers cheques would be IT.

No limit to the amount of travellers cheques you can cash.

Thanks, Kuki.
I think we'll do traveller checks then, just a lot to sign when we get those at the bank. (I take it that if there is any "leftover" from our deposit, it will just be a check from Princess, which is not as safe as travellers checks, though the probablity of being unsafe is quite small). Thanks again.

How big a gambler are you. If you bet large sums you can arrange to draw markers just like Vegas. You had to set up your account before your cruise and link it to your checking acct. at home. I have seen a few of these but usually big bettors don't show up on cruise ships because the odds they offer are much lower than Nv. and who knows if the the games are honest? No gaming commission to overlook them. Just go to have some fun lose a few hundred or so. My last cruise I didn't gamble until the last night and got hot on the crap table , made 9 hundred bucks, was lots of fun, If I had that run in Vegas it would have been at least 10k profit. Buck

This may seem like a stupid question but I am a first time cruiser! Don't they have ATM machines on board??
