All the cruise ships have crap tables. All the crap tables are usually empty. Craps is a great game with very little house advantage with the right types of bets. If the amount one needed to make basic bets was lowered, the crap tables would be much more crowded. There is nothing like a crowded crap table with everyone yelling and screaming to get the mood of a casino going
I have only seen a few - but they usually are 5 or 10 dollars - which means that most players will usually have about 50 - 75 dollars on each series of rolls. If the table limits were made one or two dollars - more people would be able to play, and the high rollers could also play.
yes, thats true, but i guess it depends on how much you get involved on the inside bets. i usually just bet the pass line and two #s..... anyway, what about black jack? are those $5 and $10 tables too?
fredgratz -even by playing the pass line and placing two numbers, or having two come bets - with odds that is going to add up to a great deal of money! How many cruisers are going to want to have 50 dollars on the table for each round of craps? - Not me!
My last cruise I took a fast look at the casino, and I thought I saw five dollar minimums at the blackjack tables.
The last two cruises I was on - I noticed the crap tables had two times odds. I can understand why the crap tables have such high minimums. WIth the low house odds, they need to jack up the minimums so they can make some money. The problem is that they don't - and I have seen the crap tables empty or with one player many times. Slot machines are great for all casinos - just program the odds that they want and they are guaranteed to make 12 - 20%. And slot machines don't get sick, don't have personal problems, and don't need salary or benefits!
$5 minimum is pretty typical of any casino. It is getting hard to find $1 $2 and the oddball $3 min bet tables in Reno. Never seen them in Vegas. And why would you need $50 on the table? If you find a table with a $5 min, and x2 odds, you can play all night on pass line bets with the odds alone. You are putting out only $11-$15 at a time. Place bets on the 6 and 8 will only put you back $12 more. Where is the $50 coming from? Unless you are making foolish bets, and placing every number on the board (equally as foolish)....
