Duty Free
Me and a friend of mine are going on our first cruise the last week of April on the Norweigan Dream. We are so excited! I have been looking at another friends papers that she brought back from her cruise last year and saw duty free shops. Then my husband said something about allowances. I have no idea what any of this is. I tried to find information on duty free and "allowance" but to no avail. Can anyone give me any info on this. Sure do appreciate it.

Re: Duty Free
seek the port and shopping guide onboard when you get on! They usually hold lectures and they're LOTS of help! They're not just there to sell you, they're there to help you, whatever questions you have they'll have the answers or they'll find out for you! Simple, and don't stress, you'll be fine.

I disagree, the majority of the shopping "experts" are usually shills for certain stores and you are paying for their kickbacks...

All "duty-free" means is that the country where you are purchasing the product has not taxed that product. You are still subject to the normal Customs limits and duty on your purchases.
